New Charisma Challenge

Its Thursday, so that means it time for a new Charisma Cardz challenge.
This weeks challenge is THANK YOU. You can make whatever you like as long as it is something that has thank you on it.

The prize this week is a secret, none of us DT's knows what it is, only Carly has the answer. So why not pop over and join in the fun.

Here is my little creation, I have made a little gift bag for my mum for doing my washing for me when my bloomin washer broke down. I am gonna fill it with some yummy Maltesers (her fave choc).

The image is a gorgeous Miss Anya from the Greeting Farm, the cardstock is My Minds Eye, the flower is a mixture of Poppicrafts & Prima with a Papermania pearl brad, scalloped edging done with MSDP & Dovecraft Ribbon.

Second card from me today, I have used a new Gorjuss Girl that I got last week. I have made the card following the sketch over on A Spoon Full Of Sugar and am also entering it into the Creative Inspirations blog which is a recipe challenge of 4 flowers, 3 papers & 2 buttons. I have used 4 flowers but have layered them up to fit the sketch (hope this is ok).

I got some fabby Miss Anya images from a blogging buddy and couldnt wait to use them. This is the first card I have made with them and it follows a sketch over on the Docrafts website done by the lovely Clare Curd. The sketch was very easy to work with, with great scope for adding extra embellies.

The image is from the Greeting farm, papers are new from Papermania and are the Jesse Edwards collection (they are so delish) Poppicrafts flowers, Papermania pearl brads & gem stones, Craftwork Cards oval sentiment & ribbon from stash.

Second post from me today, although I didnt get as much crafting in as I thought. A friend came round for a cuppa and a chat while her daughter (who is in Oli's class) played outside with the kids. This is quite a simple card as I was following the fabby sketch over on Papertake Weekly by the lovely Dawny P. Great simple sketch with plenty of room for added embellies although I did keep it quite simple.

OMG I am super excited !!!!

I just have to tell you my news I have had 2 super exciting things happen to me the last 2 days.

Firstly one of my customers from the shop who also follows my blog, is part of a group of ladies who meet up and craft. She came into the shop to see me yesterday and asked if I could do a demo for them. Well I was so pleased I of course said yes and just have to sort details out now. I know I have done a couple for the shop, but I am still in a place (in my head) where I cant really believe that my stuff is good enough especially compared to some that I see whilst blogging on here.

Secondly as you know I did a card for a magazine which came out the other day, well I have received an email from them today and they have offered me another 2 commissions I am so excited I have the most hugest grin on my face. The one is quite a simple little thing, the other is going to be a bit of a challenge but I am gonna love doing it. I really appreciated your comments on the card that came out and a few of you ( and some of my ladies from the shop) even joked about emailing the mag and telling them you want to see more of my cards, you didnt actually do it did you lol!!!!!!!

So there you are, thats my news. No card from me tonight I am too excited to make one, would prob cut my finger off with me knife or something lol!!!

Double Challenge Card

It was Abbies first day at nursery today and I was really dreading it, although she has been there a few time with me going to parent & toddler this was the first time she would be left on her own. I had nothing to worry about however as she was fine, she was constantly on all morning asking when it was time to go and was so excited. When we got there she went straight in, said hello to the class rabbit & went and popped an apron on and started painting. I said i'm going now and she just turned round and said bye!!! and carried on. Hubby and I popped into town and it was great shopping without having to have eyes in your backside. When we went to pick her up she didnt want to come home and was very dissapointed, just hope thats how its going to be all the time.

Anyway I have made a card tonight which hopefully covers 2 challenges, the first is Cute Card Thursday which is floral fantasy & the second is One Stop challenge which is decorative cuts - such as die cuts etc.

The image is Picking Apples from Sugar Nellie cut out using Nesties label 2, paper is Basic Grey porcelain, corners cut with a Sizzix die, flowers are a 2" Dovecraft punch, Prima & paper roses from the Range. The ribbon is from stash, which IRL is the same green as the cardstock & Craftwork Cards oval sentiment.

I took the opportunity to use the sketch for a card for Gandad off the kids, his birthday is tomorrow. I have used a fab PB image that I recieved in a swap and my new BG papers.

A very excited woman in the isles of Asda!!!

Do you remember me telling you ages ago that I had been asked to make a card for a magazine. Well it comes out on sale on 14th April, but whilst in Asda today I noticed it on the shelf. Well I had the plastic bag off it in about 2 seconds flat I was so excited, I think they thought I had gone mad. Oli and Abbie were there with me and they were jumping up and down and making a bit of noise, Abbie mostly cause she could see her cousin katie's piccy. She then took that mag off me and went running down the isle shouting DAD!!! DAD!!! look at Katie.

The card I made was nothing majorly special, basically I had to make a card that would be suitable for a child to make with adult help and then get a child to make it following my instructions. This is where I roped my niece into it, I then had to take pics of Katie whilst she was making the card and then send the card and pics off to the mag.

Here is a pic of the page in the mag Cardmaking and Papercraft. It is just such a thrill to see something of mine in print and my name there on the page, and then when I looked in the front of the mag my name was listed under the designers !!!!

I am now hoping and praying that this will not be the one and only card I get asked to make. Hope you like.

Move over to the Dark Side!!!

There is an amazing sketch over on the Sugar Bowl Challenge this week, desigined by the fabulous Tiets. I love working with her sketches they always seem to have a lot going on in them. I decided to use another of my Gorjuss Girls that I had for my b'day and fancied doing something a bit different, so I ditched the pastels and went over to the dark side. I love how it has turned out I think it looks a bit quirky and different to my normal style, but can see me doing something like this again.

The Gorjuss image is Sugar Nellie, papers are My Minds Eye, Poppicraft flowers with Papermania pearl brads, Dovecraft gem flower brad, Raffia from Hobbycraft and my own conputer generated sentiment.

Abbie's Birthday

Hi all,

It was my baby's 3rd birthday today so I thought I would pop a couple of pics on. We have had a lovely day, went to the farm this morning and to Macdonalds for dinner. We then had a tea party for her and she had some of her little friends around. We played pass the parcel, musical statues, pin the tail on the donkey, and had a great time dancing to party records.

Here is a pic of Abbie & Oli sitting in front of some of her presents. She is holding her main present in her hands (a pink DS) she has gone made for this and I thought she was a bit too young, however when she manages to get her hands on Oli's she is really good on it and they fight over it. Hopefully this will stop all the arguements now!!

This is Abbies cake (can you believe that she wanted spongebob squarepants!!!) My friend is a super douper cake maker and she very kindly made this for Abbie. It tastes really yummy as well!!!!

Finally this is the card I made for Abbie off me & Rich. It is from the crafters companion Girls CD and I copied the castle by 200% and printed it off 5 times, then decoupaged it and added all the details.
