Double Challenge Card

It was Abbies first day at nursery today and I was really dreading it, although she has been there a few time with me going to parent & toddler this was the first time she would be left on her own. I had nothing to worry about however as she was fine, she was constantly on all morning asking when it was time to go and was so excited. When we got there she went straight in, said hello to the class rabbit & went and popped an apron on and started painting. I said i'm going now and she just turned round and said bye!!! and carried on. Hubby and I popped into town and it was great shopping without having to have eyes in your backside. When we went to pick her up she didnt want to come home and was very dissapointed, just hope thats how its going to be all the time.

Anyway I have made a card tonight which hopefully covers 2 challenges, the first is Cute Card Thursday which is floral fantasy & the second is One Stop challenge which is decorative cuts - such as die cuts etc.

The image is Picking Apples from Sugar Nellie cut out using Nesties label 2, paper is Basic Grey porcelain, corners cut with a Sizzix die, flowers are a 2" Dovecraft punch, Prima & paper roses from the Range. The ribbon is from stash, which IRL is the same green as the cardstock & Craftwork Cards oval sentiment.

Cards for Nan.

We have had some very sad news in the family this week, my sisters MIL sadly passed away so quickly from cancer. She has only been diganosed the week before and it was a complete shock. The children have asked me if I could make them cards, so that they can write their nan a message to send with her. These are the cards I came up with I have followed the sketch from Mojo Monday for the one and have decided to put them in the CCT challenge which is Family Affair. The reason that only 2 cards have nan on them is that only 2 of the children are my sisters partners, but my niece also wanted to send her a little card as well.

Flowers for you

Well hasn't the weather been gorgeous today, I promised Oli that I would take him over the park on the BMX track after school today. Should have kept my mouth shut, been as Rich was at home he suggested I take my bike (rearly used) and have a ride with him, whilst he pushed Abbie on her trike. Lets just say my legs now feel like jelly and I need a padded cushion to sit on lol!!!!!
Anyway this is the card I have made for my little brother to give his mum (my stepmum). I followed the sketch over on the Penny Black challenge blog and used this fabby stamp called Guess What!

The image is Penny Black, papers are Basic Grey porcelain, Prima flowers, Papermania pearl brads and circle cut out with a Sizzix die on my Big Shot and then I used my Cropodile to punch the holes all the way round.

With Love for Friday Sketchers

Fabulous sketch over on the Friday Sketchers Challenge blog this week. I have yet again used a new Sherbet (can you tell I love them!!!) and picked some fun and funky papers to add a bit of brightness to this chilly day. I have sliced my card off on the diagonal to fit the sketch and I kinda like how it looks.

My little lovely sherbet has been coloured in using Whispers pens, papers are Papermania Spring Burst, Papermania pearl brads and sentiment sticker. The flower is poppicrafts with a Dovecraft flower brad in the centre and the swirl and corner piece were made using my Big Shot and a Sizzix die.

The image is a PB stickeroo and the scalloped circle has been cut out using my Big Shot and then the holes have been punched using my Cropodile. The flower little gems in the top corners and sticker sentiment are from Papermania and the ribbon is Dovecraft.

Sneeky peep No 2 - Laura Ashley

Hello there I thought I would give you another sneeky peep of some of the demo items I have made. This time I have used the new Laura Ashley Love Song range. These items put me way out of my comfort zone as they are not the normal things I use, bit too flowery for me. Having said that I really like the samples that I made and some of the papers are actually nice. I think they make great cards for older people and I am actually going to use the stuff to make my MIL a card for her 81st birthday with them, as I think she will appreciate it.

Again I have tried to make more than just cards, and also done a different style of card for variation. We have some gorgeous PM pearlesent card blanks on offer on the day for only 99p per pack, so I have used these to show them off.

This card was made with the PM card blank, Laura Ashley die cut decoupage set, papers & brads, All put together with some simple matting and layering and finished with a gorgeous piece of ribbon.

This card was again made with the Laura Ashley decoupage set & papers. I folded back the front of the card on itself to give a zig zag shape, again was put together with some simple matting and layering.

This is actually a wallet, I cut the front of the card in half and then with the fold at the top, stuck the piece back on as the bottom along 3 of the edges. I left the top edge open to slide things in. The decoupage flower is only stuck on at the bottom and the top flap folds in behind the flower head. Finished of with a brad.

This little tag was made using the Big Shot and 3 dies flower, Circle & scalloped circle (something else I am gonna be demoing, we will be doing a half price deal on sizzix dies ). I again used the Laura Ashley papers and brads and the PM cardstock.

Last but not least is a little gift box I have made, so simply buy using one of the Sq card blanks cut in half, scored, folded and stuck together. Finished off with a Laura Ashley decoupage flower on the top and ribbon round the edges of the lid.

Hope you have liked seeing a different style of things from me and also something other than just cards. Will be back soon with some Forever Friends sneeky peeps!!!

Secret Crafter Challenge No 8

Well I had 2 complete hours to myself this afternoon as nanny came and took the 2 kids off to a party. Great I thought got all my stuff out and got ready to make some cards. Oh dear my mojo had got up and mojoed off, I could not for the life of me come up with a good design, so I got some blog hopping done and spent lots of time texting my friend about the joys of owning a Big Shot and teased her cause I had got mine out and was playing with it. She coming over tomorrow to have a play with mine before she commits. Anyway about decided to do the Secret Crafter challenge which this week is Decoupage, so I got my limited No. of sheets out ( I dont really do decoupage for myself only really for samples for the shop). I did have some left over though so which were Jolly Nations die cuts ones so spent some time putting those together, then guess what couldnt decided which one to make into a card. In the end decided on 2 so have used 1 for this challenge and the other for a different challenge (see next post). This is the card I made for the Secret Crafter Challenge :-

The decoupaged image is Jolly Nation christmas fairy, papers are Papermania A Wonderful Christmas Time, Scalloped circle cut out using my Big Shot, Pointsetta from Hobbycraft and Scrolly things in the corners are from a Studio G clear stamp set. Didnt bother adding a sentiment to this as Merry Christmas is printed all over the circle behind the fairy.
