Hi all,

Sorry I am a bit late with this post today, not been feeling too well this morning and forgot to schedule my post last night.

Today sees a new challenge over at Milkcoffee and this fortnight our theme is

Anything but Square

I loved making my card for this theme, and it gave me perfect excuse to use my new Grand Nesities and finally get my Grand Calibur out of the box lol!!

I used the gorgeous image - Two little girls (so adorable) for my card and teamed them with some beautiful papers from LOTV.

I really wanted to make this card very feminine and girly - so went to town with lots of flowers, lace, ribbon and some lovely pearl swirls.

Please do pop on over to the challenge blog and check out my team mates fabby creations and join in the fun while your there too.

Easter Basket

Hi all,

We have a new challenge over at Milkcoffee today and this fortnight our theme is

Go Green

Now you can interpret this 2 ways, you can either use green on your card or you can go green and recycle.

For my card I have chosen to go green and have used lots of recycled elements on my card. I have used the gorgeous image - Celine with basket of eggs - available in Store with lots of other fabulous designs.

So as I said I used lots of recycled things on this card - The ribbon is from my MIL's birthday cake from the other week, the butterfly is from a broken necklace/bracelet, the heart button is from a pair of Abbie's old jeans and the kraft matting is actually brown envelopes.

Please do pop on by the Challenge Blog and check out my team mates fabby creations.

Its all about the WOW factor

Hi all,

We have a new challenge starting today over at Milkcoffee and this week our theme is :-

WOW

For those of you who don't know what wow is - it means White on White - so the only colour we want to see on your creation is on the image only.

Now I have to admit I have never made a wow card before and was a bit worried at first as I do love my patterned papers, but dusted off my embossing folders and got to work. I have to say I am really pleased with the end result and it was a change to actually make my flowers using dies instead of reaching for the flower box.

I used the fabulous image - Fairy Tiffany - isn't she just gorgeous!!. I coloured her with my promarkers and and fussy cut her out. The image was matted onto a Floral Oval die cut embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. The background panels were embossed with a Crafts Too Floral folder and I used a couple of MD dies for the flowers & swirl.

Please do pop on over to the challenge blog and check out my team mates fabulous creations.

Thanks for popping by my blog today.

Hearts a plenty

Hi all,

We have a new showcase over at Milkcoffee today and our theme this week is - Hearts - perfect to show off some of the new valentine releases in store.

For my card I have used the gorgeous - Charlotte Valentine Date - such a little cutie clutching her heart purse.

I teamed the image with some gorgeous papers from the First Edition Rose Garden pad - I am so loving the 2 new FE pads at the mo. The card shape I think is called a Double Z Fold Card and I trimmed the top corners off to create the shape and made a little band to keep it closed.

This is the card closed

Here is the card open

Thank you for popping by my blog today, please do pop back later to see the final release from Little Claire.

Let it snow

Hi all,

Back today with a new challenge over at Milkcoffee - now we have a very appropriate theme this week

Snow/Snowflakes + Glitter/Sparkle

Well I tell you after putting all my xmas bits and pieces away at the back of the cupboard I wasn't too happy to see this challenge and had to dig it all back out again - I really didn't want to start my xmas cards yet lol!!!!

Anyway for my card I have used the adorable image - Girl playing with Snow - don't you just love her, she's so sweet

I teamed the image with some fabby papers from Papermania, the flowers are WOC and the glittery snowflake is actually a tree decoration from Asda (not got many left now for my cards for next year - should have stocked up lol!!!)

Please do pop by the challenge blog and check out my team mates fabby creations.

Thank you for popping by my blog today - and I would like to appologise for my lack of commenting just lately. I have been very busy ploughing through a lot of DT work for some new releases coming out very soon. Hoping to catch up with everyone over the weekend.

Fancy a cuppa

Hi all,

Well I am a bit late in posting today, have had a mare of a day really. Abbie has still not recovered properly from her bad chest over christmas and today we have spent most of the day at the hospital with her after being sent home with chest pains, so she was checked over and is now on her second lot of anitbiotics (stronger ones), steriods and a new inhaler. If they havent worked by when we go for a check up on 5th Feb, I could well mean a stay in hospital on IV's for a while so fingers crossed it doesnt come to that. Then to top it all off I have had to go to the doctors today after not feeling well since New Years Eve and I have a water infection so I am on antibiotics too!!!!!

Anyway, I am here to show you my card for the showcase over at Milkcoffee - our theme that we were given was - Lets brighten things up - So I made a very bright card using the fabby image Dragoo enjoys life.

The papers are from a gorgeous Tilda pad that I really didnt want to cut into, but went so well with the image. Just a couple of punched flowers and a bit of gingham ribbon to finish.

Thanks so much for popping by my blog, I am very very behind on my commenting at the moment but hoping to have a good ole catch up over the weekend. So I will be popping by your blogs shortly!!

Love Shack & Exciting News

Hi all,

First today I have some exciting news that I have been wanting to share with you for a few weeks now. Last year I entered the Card Designer of the Year competition in Simply Cards & Papercraft Magazine and just before Christmas was thrilled to find out I was one of the runners up, I have had to keep it a secret until the magazine was published.  I was so excited when I received the email as I nearly didn't enter and left it right up till the last before I sent my cards off, as I have entered a few in the past and never came anywhere.

Here is a pic of the magazine page and my cards that I entered.

Anyway onto the reason for todays post - Its time for a new challenge over at Milkcoffee and our theme this fortnight is a pretty obvious one being new year and all lol!!!

New Beginnings

So for my creation I chose to make a new home card and used this fabulous little funky image - Cute Shack - available in store along with lots of other fabulous designs.

I teamed the image with some gorgeous bright and funky papers from MME, and added a few flowers and some fabby dotty ribbon.

Please do pop on over to the Challenge Blog and check out my team mates fabby creations and join in the fun, the prize is 3 images of your choice.

Thanks for popping by my blog today

Glamour puss

Hi all,

3 days on the trot I must be feeling a bit better, well after seeing the consultant this week it turns out that after all this time the reason I am still in pain is that my body is still not recovered from my operation and I need to take things easy for the next 3 months or so. His exact words to me were - there are hysterectomy's, difficult hysterectomy's, very difficult hysterectomy's and then yours!!!!!, so I need to cut back and rest a bit more. Also it seems that my bladder has been effected from when they had to un-attach it from my womb and I now have an overactive bladder with stress incontinence. I have been put on a bladder training plan and told to avoid certain things which can irritate the bladder - so have been banned from drinking anything with caffeine, fizz, alcohol, citrus & sweetener in it - which doesn't leave much apart from water and I have to have measured amounts of fluid at certain time throughout the day. So looks like its going to be a very sober xmas for me!!!!

Anyway today is showcase day over on the Milkcoffee Blog and our theme for this week is Party, we were given a mixture of party themed images to work with and I was lucky enough to be given this gorgeous glamour puss Tiffany in couture dress to work with.

I coloured the image with promarkers, then using a quickie glue pen added glamour dust to some of the pattern to make it stand out. The papers are MME and I made the flowers myself buy cutting a very wonky circle and then cutting it into a spiral.

If you would like to see what creations my teamies have made, please pop by the blog and check them out.

Also before I go, I have had 2 lots of very exciting news this week. One I can't tell you till Jan - but I was jumping up and down in the living room about it!!!!, but the other I can tell you and that is I have been asked to join the DT for Inky Impressions so I am now an Inkette whoop whoop!!!!

Bedtime Stories

Hi all,

I am a little late posting this today, unfortunately we had a little lie in this morning which then meant a mad dash to get ready for school - then all my day seems to have got messed up (why is that!!!!)

Anyway the DT over at Milkcoffee are showcasing today and our theme was couples, so we had to used an image with more than 1 character on it.

For my creation I was given the adorable image Bedtime Story - it such a sweet little image and lovely to colour too. I didn't make a card as, as soon as I saw the image I knew it would be perfect to make a little bookmark for Abbie - for when we have our little reading sessions before bed. Now I had a quick scout about and found lots of tutorials for bookmarks, but wanted something quite simple so came up with this.

Here's what it looks like in a book (ignore my boring old horrible diary!!!)

So bascially the ribbon goes in the page you want to save, and then the pretty picture sits nicely on the top of your book.

Also I was excited to find yesterday, that I won the following challenges with THIS card

Counting down the days

Hi all,

Its time for a new showcase over on the Milkcoffee Blog and today the team are showcasing some of the new Christmas images.

For my creation I have used to fabulous Lisbeth & Christmas - isnt she so adorable singing along to her favorite christmas carols with her pets in tow.

I created a fabby little Countdown to Christmas chalkboard calendar for Abbie, and had such fun making it.

I started off with a cheap frame from the £1 shop and replaced the glass with a piece of chalk board which again I got from the £1 shop and just chopped to size.  I decorated the frame with ribbon, die cut pontsettia flower and my new holly flourish. The letters I found in my stash and were from a sheet of die cut alphabets.

Now I know its not 24 days till christmas at the moment, but we put our decorations up on the 1st and so it will be 24 days then. I also just wanted to put a number on there for the photo lol!!!

Please do pop on over to the Blog and check out what my team mates have created with some of the other fabulous Christmas designs.

Dream, Fly, Soar

Hi all,

Well this week definately seems to be passing me by extremely quickly, before you know it it will be over and time to do it all again. One good thing about it though is that means Saturday will come soon and I'm off to the NEC and very excited to be going, have my pennies all saved up to treat myself to some delish goodies.

Anyway its Thursday and its time for a new challenge over at Milkcoffee and this fortnight we do have a bit of a challenge for you.

More than 1 Fold

We would like to see your creations with more than 1 fold, so easels, gatefolds, joyfolds of even something more intricate - as long as its got more than 1 fold it counts!!!!

So here is my card, I have gone for a design called Free Standing Pop Up Card- which actually has 7 folds on it to create the shape. I love these cards are they are so different & unsual but can fold flat for posting.

The image I used on my card is called Michelle in Hot Air Balloon - isn't this image just fabulous - I had a blast colouring the gorgeous balloon up. The papers are some of my new ones from Echo Park from the Sweet Days pads and oh my they are just yummy love them!!!!.

I added a few flowers, ticket sentiment and a bit of red grossgrain ribbon to finish off.

If you fancy having a go yourself at this style card, you will find my tutorial HERE

Pumkin Patch

Hi all,

Another Halloween creation from me today, we have a new challenge starting over at Milkcoffee today and our theme is

Halloween

Now I don't make Halloween cards, there is no point as I have no-one to send them too like most people in the UK. Halloween isn't really a card giving occasion, just an excuse for the kids to get dressed up and eat lots of sweets. So I made another little wall hanging thought I could perhaps put them on the door just in case we got any treat or treaters, although we don't get that many. I used to take my two trick or treating but its got to the point now where most people don't bother answering their doors and Ab's was begining to get a bit disapointed so now we just have a bit of fun in the house and I make them some treat bags ups.

Anyway onto my creation, I have used the adorable image Lisbeth & Pumpkins - she looks so cute sitting there with her little friend. As I said I made it into a wall hanging by using a 6x6 chipboard shape as my base. I covered it with purple paper, then made up my topper as I would normally do for a card and stuck it on at a bit of an angle.

I don't possess any Halloween papers but thought these ones from Basic Grey - Go Green fitted the bill just perfectly and my little creatures & purple webbing were from a bag of mixed Hallowen things from the £1 shop.

Please do pop by the challenge blog and check out my team mates creations, join in the fun for your chance to win 3 digis of your choice from the store - trust me you will be spoilt for choice.

In the pink

Hi all,

Today we are having a monochromatic showcase over on the Milkcoffee Blog. Us girls have been given a free choice on what image we would like to use as long as our card is in mono (skin & hair colours permitting) lol!!.

I have chosen to use the gorgeous Glamourous Tiffany in her long evening dress, and really had fun colouring up those folds and hair. I have gone for a pink theme and my background has been made using 3cm squares cut and arranged into the patchwork pattern Ohio Star, and although you cant really see it the whole piece has been embossed to give it a bit of texture.
(see Here for template of the pattern)

I have added some gorgeous organza ribbon -(originally wired which I just pulled out) - and a fabulous Cheery Lynn Swirl. The flower is made from a Spellbinders die and a few crystal flowers to finish.
