Charisma Cardz Challenge 14 & exciting news!!!

Its Thursday so that means its time for a new challenge over on Charisma Cardz. The challenge this week has been set by the lovely Joy and her challenge is PURPLE & GREEN.

As always you can make whatever you like as long as you follow the challenge theme. There is a lovely prize this week so why not pop over and join in the fun.

Here is my card, I had a major panic attack this week as I couldn't find any purple & green papers anywhere, then guess what!! I found my Spring Burst paper pad from Papermania and what colour is that, yes you guessed it.

I have cheated slightly and have followed a fab sketch from over on the Friday Sketcher blog as well.

The papers are Papermania, Hanglar image, Raffia Lace from Paper Cellar, Poppicrafts flowers, Papermania pearl brads & Craftwork Cards oval sentiment.
Now on to my news, Its my last week as Guest Designer over on the Charisma Challenge blog and I have been asked to stay on as a proper DT member, how cool is that!!!!. So I thinks I may be putting some candy up in the next few days to celebrate.

Papertake Weekly for Abbie and some good news!!

There is a fab sketch over on Papertake Weekly this week done by the lovely Dawny P, I took the opportunity to use it to make Abbie's birthday card off Oli. I can't believe that this time next week my little princess will be 3, it still seems like yesterday that she was in BCH having her op with her life hanging in the balance. I cannot believe how far we have come since those terrible days. Anyway I have used some fabby new papers from the DCWV spring glitter stack which are DB sided and are just delish, a really cute Hanglar image which I think looks just like her, and finished off with 3 little primas and some gem stones.

Well we were at the hospital yesterday for our bi monthly check up for Abbie, and it was good news again. The anitbiotics that she has been on for the last couple of weeks seem to have done the job and her chest was clear yay!!!. Their is slight concern over her weight & height as she hasnt really put much on or grown much since the last time, but not so much that we really need to be concerned over. We have to try to get her to eat a bit more, and also try and cram as much high cal stuff into her as poss. (If you dont know people with CF cannot digest & break down their food and so they have to have these granuals to help them and they also have to eat very high fat & high cal food as even with these granuals (creon) they still dont take enough cals in. They basically have to have double the amount a normal person would just to try and keep their weight stable). They also told us about some new developments on her physio, they are now trying out a new and very fun way of doing it. We are going to be given one of those huge exercise balls and Abbie will have to have her physio on that, as well as doing other exercises with it to help get her lungs working hard. Well they had one in the hospital and she loved it, her physio had her on the ball showing us all the different things and she just had a great time. They also took piccys of her on the ball which are going to be used on a poster and newsletter to promote it all, and she really gave them some fab poses she just loves having her piccy taken.

Summer in the Winter

This card is to cover 2 challenges, sorry to be doubling them up but I have missed so many the last couple of weeks whilst being busy with demo samples. I wanted to do as many as I could this week. Anyway the theme over at Stamp Something is Summer in Winter (use nice bright summery colours & images). Over on the Basic Grey challenge blog there is a fabby sketch to follow.

As you can see I have gone for the nice bright and summery colours of the Basic Grey 2 Scoops paper pack. The image is Hanglar, Craftwork Cards oval sentiment & flowers from stash with Papermania pearl brads in the centres.

Papertake Weekly

Hello there, just thought I would pop on to tell you that I managed to go to my brothers party last night. We all had a fabulous time and I did manage to enjoy myself even though I still felt a little ill. The theme was Purple & White and it was great to see that everyone had taken the trouble to follow this through and all came wearing this colour combo. His cake was magnificent, the design was a shoe box, with 2 sparkly purple shoes on the top with the designer name of Manolo Blank (or whatever on the front of the box). And he had made us family these gorgeous little candle creations in glass bowls as a keepsake. We got in about 1am this morning and had a lovely lie-in till 10am.

Anyway onto the card, over at papertake weekly they have another great sketch by the fabby Dawny P. Really nice and easy sketch to follow, but with plenty of scope for adding extra little embellishments.

The image is Hanglar from Ebay, Papers are Papermania Spring Burst, Flowers are Papermania Elements and the oval sentiment is from Craftwork Cards (from the Glitter Pot).

The inside.

Again Papermania Spring Burst papers, and Element flowers. Sentiement is from a HOTP quote pad.

Sister-in-Law birthday card meets Sketch Saturday

OMG it feels so good to finally be out of bed. I have had a few sneeky peeps on here with my lappie balancing on the bed, but my head has been so fuzzy I couldnt stay on for long. I am no where near better but I feel much better than I did on Sunday, my poor hubby had to come home from work and look after me. Bless him he has been really good looking after Oli and me, Abbie had to go over to my moms as she couldnt be around me just incase. You know your vows when you say for better or for worse, well he has definately seen me looking my worse these last couple of days, and he still says i'm beautiful not sure what he's after lol !!!!. Anyway I really needed to get 3 cards made by the weekend so have braved it tonight, and I must say I am quite happy with how they have turned out. This first card is for my Sister-in-law for her birthday and I have used one of my new Hanglar images that I purchased off ebay (not sure if they are allowed to sell them, but it means I got my fix anyway). I have also tried to follow the sketch from Sketch Saturday for this card, although I did cut a couple of my papers slightly wrong but im hoping that its still ok.

The image is Hanglar, Bazzil swiss dots cardstock, papers are Papermania Scruptious range, flowers are from Poppicrafts with a Dovecraft flower brad in the centre, charm from ebay, computer generated sentiment & buttons from the shop.
