Friday Sketchers

Made this card following the sketch over on Friday Sketchers. Didnt really turn out how I hoped so am not 100% happy with this. Think its the colour scheme really looks a bit washed out now, added some distressing to the edges of the papers and again hasnt turned out right.

Image is Tidla with Tulips from Magnolia, Papermania Blueberry Hill papers, Craftwork Cards sentiment, Poppicraft flowers & Papermania shimmer dots.

Sugar Bowl Sketch

This is the first of a couple of posts on here tonight, kids were at nan & grandads last night, hubby wasnt in till late so I had a couple of hours to myself. I managed to get a few cards for some challenges done but have popped them on separate post to make them easier to find.

This card is following the fab sketch over on the Sugar Bowl, with the added extra of ribbon & bows. I used this gorgeous little stamp, after having a look through my stamp box I realised I had only used her once before and she was feeling a little neglected lol!!!!.

The papers are My Minds Eye and they are just delish with all glitter on them, Craftwork Cards oval sentiment, Papermania shimmer dots & ribbon from stash.

Thanks for all your lovely messages about Abbie, she is so much better now and is running about the place like mad. We are off on our hols on sat for 2 weeks and I am really looking forward to it, I think it will do us all the world of good.

I havent been making cards as other things just took over really, but I realised on Thurs night that I hadnt done the teacher ones and so made these up quite quickly.

Sorry about the poor quailty on the last 2 pics, took them quite quickly on the Fri morning and and now its too late to get a better picture.

Thanks to everyone who gave me the info on the stamp I was looking for. I did manage to track it down at ladybug&friends.

I have made a few cards for some challenges. You will have to excuse the pics on the first 2 as I made them at work yesterday and a woman came in a wanted them so I had to take the pics pretty quickly.

This one is for the Sugar Bowl challenge and is a fab sketch.

Magazine card & help needed & More bad news

Hi all, well we have had some rubbish news again today (think tuesday's are not my fave days at the moment). Abbie has been quite ill all weekend with high temp, headaches, lethargic and generally feeling really poorly. We put it down to the psuedomonas, her nurse came to see her today and straight away said it was nothing to do with that and we should contact the NHS Direct straight away. She is now being treated for Swine Flu poor little mite, so again we are having a very bad day. I just dont think we can take much more really, we are just so stressed at the moment.

Anyway thought I would show you the card I made for Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine, Issue 68 comes out on the 10th and I had to make a card and tag using some papers they sent me. I chose to use a fabby little gorjuss girl and this is the outcome. Hope you like.

Next I need your help!!!!!! I recieved this image in a swap and would now like to buy the stamp. The problem is I cant find it anywhere, I thought it was a RAM design but have searched the Stampavie website to no avail. So if you know who is is by, what its called and where I can get it from please let me know.

Thanks

A few cards

Finally I have a few cards to show you. I have managed to find a couple of hours to myself amongst all the chaos and came up with these. They are not for any challenges I just made them cause I wanted to & needed to, was getting major withdrawal symptoms.

Whilst sorting of my stuff, I came across this fab paper and embellishment pack which came free with a mag. So I decided to put it to good use at long last.
The images are Greetings Farm, Sugar Nellie & Messy Rabbit, flowers are Floral Doodles by petaloo and Papermania adhesive gems.

Finally here is a piccy of my little angel with her Nebuliser, she is such a star!!!!!.

As you can tell by her face, she is looking a little unwell at the moment, its so sad to see her so different from her normal self.

Hospital News

Hi all, sorry I have not been around for a while things have been really hetic for me just lately with the shop and the demo. I just wanted to pop a quick post on here just to let you know how hosptial went.

They were really pleased with Abbie and she had put on weight and grown well, although she is still below average. She didnt like having the bloods or x-rays done and there were tears from both of us. We came home though pretty pleased and with new physio things to try.

However we have had some bad news today, her consultant has called to say they found something in the cough swab that was taken. She has grown a bug called Pseudomonas

Here is a bit of info about it.

The most common bacterium to infect the CF lung is Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a gram-negative microorganism with a propensity to live in warm, wet environments. The lungs of most children with CF become colonized (inhabited long-term) by P. aeruginosa before their 10th birthday. The body's response to P. aeruginosa includes inflammation, which causes repeated exacerbations or episodes of intense breathing problems. Although antibiotics can decrease the frequency and duration of these attacks, the bacterium establishes a permanent residence and can never be completely eliminated from the lungs. The treatments for P. aeruginosa lung disease typically involve antibiotics, bronchodilators, anti-inflammatory drugs, and chest physiotherapy to help fight infection and clear the lung passages.

As you can see its not very good reading, and deeply upsetting for us at this time. Although we do know quite a lot about it as Abbie grew this last year, she was put on a 3 week course of extremely strong antibiotics and had to use a nebulizer for 3 months to get it to a so called safe level. So at least this time we do have more knowledge and know hoe to deal with the problem, the main cause for concern really is that this is the 2nd time now and as you read above it never really goes away and it will come to a point where the nebulizer will be a constant thing. It will also decrease her life expectancy too.

Hope I havent been too much doom and gloom for you and hope to be back on soon with some cards.

Exciting News!!!!!

Well its seems everyone has got some sort of excting news this week, especially my blogging buddy Joey who has just announced that she is expecting her 3rd baby. Many congrats to Joey and her family I am really thrilled for them.
I do have a little bit of news myself. Firstly I have been contacted by the magazine again and have been given another 2 commissions, which means from next month I will be in the mag for 4 months on the trot.
Secondly I have been put in the very fortunate position of being offered the chance to own the shop where I work. There is still a long way to go yet and a few things still need sorting, but hopefully by mid August I will be the new owner. I am so excited!!!!!, I have really big plans for the shop and have been researching all the new products I want to stock, working out how much finance I need etc, etc.
This is the reason for my lack of cards lately I have had so much to do sorting out this venture and also making all my samples for the demo on Sat. I have been so stressed out I have not had the time or inclination to do any crafting for myself.
I am also working myself up for nothing really, Abbie is due to go to BCH on Wed for her yearly MOT (as we call it) and I am dreading it. With the x-rays, and bloods and checks on everything I am sure that something is going to come up, as you know she has not been in the best of health lately and I always assume the worst.
Anyway hope to be back with some cards soon.
