Golden Anniversary

Hi all,

Thought I'd pop on today and show you a card I made for an order for a couple celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary. I don't normally do commissions as TBH I cant be bothered with having loads of guidelines to work to (especially stupid ones sometimes)- I much prefer to do my own thing and then if someone likes the card they can buy it.  However this lady was very insistent that I do her one so I caved in lol!!!

I didn't have any image suitable for the card so decided to just go back to basis and add their names and a greeting onto the front. I made it all pretty with lots of lovely flowers, ribbon, pearls, & some Die Cut hearts. The lady wanted a verse and a typed greeting from them on the inside so I ended up decorating the whole of the inside too. I am happy to say though that my customer loved it - (not heard whether the recipient did or not) and she paid me £5 for the card so not bad I suppose.

Thanks for popping by my blog today

Christmas Delights

Hi all,

Thought I would pop on today and show you a few samples I made for Trimcraft using the fab new range Tis The Season - there is a whole host of gorgeous goodies in this collection from papers, stamps, wooden shapes, flowers, ribbon, die cut stickers and lots more.

This first card is called a Double Dutch style card and was made for this weeks craft workshop (details can be found here

This card (below) is very quick and simple to make with just a few score lines - but looks very effective (future class project I think lol)

The images on all the cards came from the Die Cut Sticker pack and I used the 6x6 papers. All of the embellishments are also from the Tis the Season Range.

Wee Stamps September Release

This is my second post of the day - please scroll down for my new challenge card for Ladybug Crafts Ink.

Hi all,

Its release day over on the Wee Stamps Blog and Sylvia has 2 gorgeously adorable images on offer for her September Release.

Today on my blog I have my creation using the very cute image Beau & Bashful to show you, however if you pop on over to the blog you can see cards using the other new release too. I decided to create a little wall hanging for a friends little girl who has just moved into her very own room.

I stated off with a square of white chipboard which I painted white with acrylic paint and punched 2 holes in the top using my cropadile. I wanted a very girly feel to my hanging so went with pinks, lilacs & pastel blues. The papers I had chosen seemed a little dark so I gave them a wash with a bit of diluted white acrylic paint and roughed all the edges up to give it a bit more of a shabby feel.
I added lots of gorgeous flowers, due cut flourishes, lace, cheesecloth and finished off with a fabby pink gingham bow topped with a vintage button.

-------------------------------------------

Promarker Colours

Beau - Orchid, Pink Pearl(fm), Soft Mauve(fm)
Mane & Tail - Tea Rose(fm), Watermelon(fm), Antiquue Pink
Bashful - Glacier Blue(fm), Celestal Blue(fm), Cadet Blue(fm)

Flowers - Buttercup, Mustard, Raw Sienna
Basket - Cocoa, Caramel, Sandstone

Thank you for popping by my blog today, will be back in a couple of days time with my card for the other new release.

Celebrate in style

Hi all,

Today we have a new challenge over at the Ladybug Craft Ink Challenge Blog and this fortnight our theme is - No Squares allowed so we want to see your shaped card creations please.

For my card I have used the fabulous little image called Celebrations Delight which is just perfect I think for anniversary cards where you need something a bit more grown up than cute.

I made my card base using a 6" scalloped circle nestie and found some fab funky papers from MME. The image has been coloured in with promarkers and the heart border was punched with a MS border punch.

Please do pop on over to the challenge blog and check out the rest of the teams fabulous creations, join in the fun while your there too.

Big squishy hugs

Hi all,

Its my turn for another of my wee creations to be shown on the Wee Stamps Blog today, and for todays creation I decided to alter a cheap picture frame that I picked up from my local B&M for just a £1. I used the adorable image Love you Slow Much available in Digi here & Rubber here and coloured it in using my Promarkers.

The frame itself was already painted cream and I did a little distressing to it taking some of the paint away in places with a nail file. I then added lots of gorgeous WOC flowers with a Marianne Design flourish and pretty pearls on wires. I added doilies & thin lace to opposite corners and finished off with a little Tim Holtz Ticket Sentiment.

Pretty little mermaid

Hi all,

Its my turn for another of my wee creations to be shown on the Wee Stamps Blog today.  For todays creation I just had to use the adorable image Shelly available in Digi here & Rubber here and coloured her in using my Promarkers. I knew right from the start I wanted to give her red hair - can you guess why?  (too many Disney films I think lol!!)

I did a little distressing to all the papers and card to give the card a little bit of a worn feel and then distressed the edges of the papers & around the image with come Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I then added lots of gorgeous WOC flowers with a selection of shells that me and madam picked up on the beach whilst on our hols and tucked in a couple of pretty crystal hearts on wires behind. I added doilley, cheesecloth and a gorgeous soft feather behind the image and some pretty lace across the bottom.

Amore

Hi all,

I have a card to show you today using a fabulous image from a new designer to the Digi/Craft market - Wendy Burns - she has a little selection of gorgeous images in her Etsy shop at the moment, with lots more coming soon. She also has a DT call on at the moment (see here for details) and this is one of the cards that I will have submitted into the running (fingers crossed!!!).

This image is called Amore and for £3 you get 3 variations of the image, full image, girl on her own, balloons on their own. In the full image the word 'Amore' is written across the balloons, but I didn't want that on my card so I used the 2 separate images of the girl & plain balloons and merged them together.

I teamed the image with some gorgeous papers from a Gorjuss paper pad and added lots of beautiful flowers to give the card a nice feminine feel. The little sentiment is popped up out of the flowers using a Tim Holtz Memo Pin.

Skin - Blush, Oatmeal, Soft Peach, Coral
Hair - Vanilla, Sanstone, Caramel, Cocoa
