Operation news

Hi all

No card from me today just thought I would let you know how my op went. I went in hospital yesterday for a laparoscopy to have a look at cysts on my overies and to check the level of endometriosis that I have. The op although a success has shown that my cysts have grown in the 4 weeks since my scan and that the level of endometriosis I have is really bad and has spread around my womb and abdomen. It has also shown that my womb is in the wrong place and is twisted up and to the front and is actually fused to my abdominal wall. (which is why I look about 6 months pregnant lol!!!) There is nothing to do except a full Hysterectomy, which I will have an appointment for my pre op within the next 2 weeks, so the operation is going to be quite soon. The consultant has said that he doesn't know how I have been managing to live like it and has said its a wonder I actually have children. It has been a bit of a shock to us as my doctor has been saying that I had nothing to worry about. I am going to be off my feet for about 6- 8 weeks with a total recovery of 3-4 months, and I probably wont be doing much this week as yesterdays op has knocked me about and they said I could be off my feet for the rest of this week.  I have pre scheduled my cards for MMCS on Wed and Totally Gorjuss on sat and hope you will pop by and check them out.

On another note, I have had some good news today and I have found out that I have won the 9 Floral Delight images over on the Ladybug Crafts Ink blog hop. So at least have something to be pleased about.

Something new & different

Hi all

Thought I would pop on today and show you something I made that is completely new and different for me.
Last month whilst in hospital with Abbie, friends and family were kind enough to bring me lovely craft magazines to read. One of them had a free Forever Friends CD with it, I dont normally use these kind of things but with my mojo slighty out and having Abbie at home I didnt do much crafting so one day I popped the CD in and had a play.
I decided to have a go at Digi Scrapbooking and using a few papers and elements came up with these, they are be no means perfect and they were my first ever attempt at Digi Scrapbooking, but I would love to know what you think.

After having a good play about, I worked out how to punch shapes, mat photos, add shadows and on Oli's page even changed the colour of the papers which gave them a completely different feel.

Canvas Heart - DT for MMCS

Hi all,

Its that time of the week again for a new challenge over at My Mums Craft Shop, this week our theme is

Buttons & Ribbons

We are sponsered this week by the fabulous

Well I fancied doing something a bit different today and didn't want to use a few buttons and piece of ribbon on a card. So this is what I came up with.

I took a little canvas (about A5 in size), distressed all round the egdes with Tea Dye Distress ink and then made a little heart out of buttons. To get the heart shape I made a heart in my graphics programme about 10cm dia, cut it out and placed it on the canvas before I distressed. This then left me with a heart shape on the canvas which I filled with different buttons. I added a bit of organza and satin ribbon across the bottom and finished off with a massive bow. All the buttons are different shades of cream and brown and with the gorgeous brown ribbon matches my living room perfectly. (at least I have used a few of the thousands of buttons I have left over from the shop lol!!!)

Get well flowers

Hi all

Hope you all had a great start to the week, mine not too good. I have mentioned on here before that I have been having a few health problems myself and finally yesterday I got to see a consultant. Turns out I have cysts on my overies and one is very large and has grown even more since I had a scan 3 weeks ago. Also they think I have Endometriosis, so next Mon I have been booked in for an op to remove the cyst and also find out the level of endometriosis so they can see what needs to be done. I have been told to be prepared for a hysterectomy!!!, but at least after all this time it will be a relief to actually get something done.

Anyways although I cant really give this card to myself I have today a get well card to show you. Whilst doing the heart shaped card the other week, which I then taught to my class. I wanted to show them that it didnt just have to be a valentines card just because it was heart shaped so I made a couple of other samples to show them, one being this get well card and another as a Mothers Day Card.

The image is from Fizzy Moon coloured with Promarkers , papers are a Forever Friends pack Pink Parfai, the faux lace was done with a MS border punch and the flowers and ribbon from stash.

I have also just seen that the original card, has today been showcased on the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog HERE as the Daily Talent Spot (go me!!!!!)

Thanks for popping by my blog today.

Picture the scene

Hi all,

Last week Diane & I had a lovely morning out at a fabulous craft shop not too far from us. The shop Gifts from the Heart Craft Barn, is a fabulous converted barn filled with lots of scrummy crafting goodies and gifts.  Well worth a visit, as its on a farm with a Fruit & Veg shop and Butchers too, plus animals to keep the kids amused whilst you browse lol!!!

Whilst there Mandy (the owner) has lots of lovely samples on display (which you can see hanging up in the photos) and I was very inspired to get my inks out and do a bit of distressing. So last week this was the card I got my class ladies doing.

I have used distress inks - Antique Linen, Scattered Straw & Tea Dye. The beautiful stamps are a set from Inkylicious.

Thanks for popping by my blog today.

I Love You

Hi all,

Today sees a new challenge over at MMCS and this week the theme is :

Must be Love

We are sponsered by the fabulous

This week I fancied doing something a bit different to the normal sq card and was totally inspired by this card HERE. I knew it would make a fabulous valentines card for my hubby and would also be perfect for this weeks challenge.

I didn't have a heart template, so I created a heart in my graphics programme and set it to just print the outline, sized it to 14cm and printed it off onto to card to create a template.  I then drew round the template onto a sq 6x6 card making sure the top of the heart overhung the folded edge, and also drew a full heart onto a spare piece of card so I could make the easel. The faux lace round the edges has been created using a Martha Stewart Border Punch, tabbed and folded to follow the line of the heart shape. The image is by Fizzy Moon - Little Messages and the little plaques are empty so you can stamp any words you like into them and there is quite a few with the image. The papers are MME - Blink of an eye ,The flowers are all from WOC, leaves are a woodware punch and the little charm & heart pins I found in my stash.

Hope you like my creation today, please do pop on over to the challenge blog and check out my team mates fabulous creations.

Thanks for popping by my blog today

Toadily hoppy birthday

Hi all,

Hope you are all keeping snuggly nice and warm in this cold weather, well it started snowing here about 12ish yesterday and didnt stop until about 9pm last night. The kids were going crazy to go out and play in it, and Abbie said quote - (if its snowing thats means its going to be christmas again and santa will bring me more presents) lol!!!

As I said yesterday I made a few cards following the sketch over at Totally Gorjuss with the PB's that I adopted, so today I thought I would show you another one.

So I went for a more fresh look to this card and used this adorable frog image coloured with Pro-Markers. The papers are First Edition - Up Up & Away and the flowers are Prima. I have used the sketch as is but put my bow the opposite side to yesterdays and popped my flowers in the top LH corner rather than the bottom.  The leaves have been made with a Woodware punch and a Craftwork Cards sentiment.

Promarkers used :-

Frog - Moss Green, Pear Green, Lime Green / Dusky Pink, Blush
Flower - Cornflower Blue, Denim Blue, Pastel Blue / Apricot, Pastel Yellow

Thanks for popping by my blog today.

Dandelion Wishes

Hi all,

Sorry I havent been round much this week am having some health issues and have spent a lot of the week in bed.

Anways its time for a new challenge over at Totally Gorjuss and as its the first challenge of the month its sketch week.

As usual we are sponsered by Joanna Sheen who is giving a £10 voucher to spend in her online store.

Here is the Sketch nice and simple with plenty of scope for being creative with it.

And my card

I have really enjoyed working with the sketch this week, so much so when I got down to it I actually made 5 cards following it. Whilst sorting out the stuff that didnt sell when I closed the shop I found some gorgeous Penny Black stamps so thought I might as well adopt them and show them a bit of love lol!!!. I got a bit carried away and used them all, so have a few more cards to show you as the week goes on.

This stamp is called Cheesecake Wish, so cute dont you think although not sure where the name came from?  I have teamed it with some delish papers from First Edition called New Leaf and a mixture of Woodware and Dovecraft flowers.

Thanks for popping by my blog today and please do pop on over to the challenge blog and check out my team mates gorjuss creations.
