Birthday's Rock

Hi all

Here with my Monday inspiration post over on the My Mums Craft Shop Blog - and this week we are showing something new on our cards.

So my something new is my cute little image from LMMS and is called Luna Bitterfrost - Birthdays Rock. I teamed her with some fairly new (to me) papers from Echo Park - Here & Now & added a few embellishments which are new in store 3D Daisies & Clear Coloured Gem Dots from the £1 Embellishment packs.

I am also trying out something new this year with my cards and seem to be going for a more clean and simple look to my creations without needing to add lots of ribbon and flowers etc.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, please do pop on over to the MMCS Blog throughout the week to check out the fabulous creations from my team mates.

Whats For Dinner? ......................................

Is the question most frequently asked in our house, mostly the answer is I don't know what do you want. Followed by everyone asking for a different item and me feeling really fed up!!!

So trying to get myself organised and hoping to save money on the food bill (also cause I'm slimming and need to be more careful with that I eat) I have been planning my meals each week and popping a little handwritten list on the cupboard door for all to see. Tbh its been working quite well and this week I even managed to save £15 on my bill by taking everything out the basket that I knew I wasn't going to cook during the week (I do my shopping online- so my basket is virtual lol).

However being a bit pretentious & needing to get a life (as my hubby said - cheeky!!!) the crappy little list stuck to my cupboard door with bluetack just wasn't doing it for me. So I scoured Pinterest (I Heart pinterest lol) and found a few planning boards that I liked and sort of took the bits I liked from each one and made something that worked for me and this is what I came up with.

So the board itself is a piece of Mount Board approx 12" x 16" which I covered in pretty paper. I have hot glued bulldog clips down the LH side for each day of the week which I can slot my meal idea in, a pocket on the top RH to hold any extra meal ideas and I hot glued a clip to hold a shopping pad on the bottom RH side so I can write down items throughout the week that I need to order.

The pocket is an A6 envelope that I have stuck closed then covered in paper. I then cut off the top section using and oval nestie, before hot gluing it done onto the board.

I have created 31 different meal idea tags with a selection of pasta, rice & potato dishes which I will mix and match each week (I don't like to eat pasta 2 nights running etc). Hopefully we should only eat each meal once per month now. I have also done a couple of extra tags for Eating Out & Free and Easy (for eg if we are going to a party or something and will only want soup or beans on toast for tea etc) and left a couple of blank tags in case I try out new recipes which I can then add into the mix. For durability I have hot laminated all the tags.

To make the board look co-ordinated I used a selection of items from the Grace Taylor Eclectic Emerald Collection and used the papers, 3D Stickers and Die Cut Shapes.

I really like how this turned out and it now has pride of place on the kitchen door - the kids love it too and keep checking every day to see whats for tea lol.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, have a great weekend

Happy Bee Day

Hi all,

Here today with my card I have made for my Monday inspiration post over on the My Mums Craft Shop Blog. We have a free week this week so I had lots of ideas and products to choose from.

For my card today I have used the utterly adorable Tiddly Ink stamp - Happy Bee Day. I really love this little cutie dressed up in her busy bee outfit.

I teamed the image with some gorgeous Echo Park papers- Times & Seasons 2, made a cute little double bow topped with a Large Sparkler and added a couple of Striped Candy Dots. The sentiment which I then stamped direct onto the paper in the top corner comes with the stamp.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, please do pop on over to the MMCS Blog throughout the week to see what my teamies have come up with.

Here is my design team creation this challenge.

I have used Love to Shop  but only used one of the girls (for the price of the digi you get complete image and each of the girls indvidually too)

Love To Shop

I kept the design of my card quite simple and added just a few little embellishments & some gorgeous lace to finish. The papers are from Echo Park - For the Record 2 and I coloured the image with my promarkers.

The challenge will run until 15th February and the winner will receive 3 images of their choice from the store
Please make sure you stop by the blog to check out the rest of the talented Dressy Girls creations.

Now as I said earlier we are also having a blog hop for this challenge, two lucky winners will each receive 2 images of their choice from the store, in order to be in with a chance of winning you have to visit every blog on the hop list and leave a comment by the date shown below. Two winners will be picked at Random by two of the Dressy Girls on Wednesday 22nd January . We know we have quite a few Dressy girls, so we have spread the hop over a week to give you all plenty of time to hop along.

If you have been following the hop list you should have arrived here from Kat, but if not here is the hopping list so you can start from the beginning and don't get lost along the way.

You are Loved

Hi all

I am here to show you my inspiration post for the Red, Pink & White theme over on the My Mums Craft Shop Blog this week. I thought this image would make a perfect card for Abbie to give to her little boyfriend on Valentines Day, so coloured the image with blonde hair to look like her lol.

I used the gorgeous image Celeste Amberglow Heartstrings from LLMM and teamed her with some fabby Echo Park Sweet Girl papers (unfortunately the papers are out of stock at the moment but you will find lots of other Echo Park pads HERE). I kept the design quite simple for me and added just a couple of embellishments to finish - Large Sparkler & Wooden Heart Button which are available in store for just £1 per pack.

I love this style of card when I see other peoples but feel they never look finished when I do them, perhaps I am just too addicted to ribbon & flowers lol. However I do like how this one has turned out and am liking the less cluttered look.

Thanks for popping by my blog today.

Fun & funky male cards

Hi all,

A few more quick and simple cards today showcasing the new First Edition Pads from Trimcraft.

These 2 cards have been made using the Neroli pad - a striking collection of floral, paisley and graphic designs with a cool colour palette of reds, white and blues.

These 2 were made using the Man Made paper pad - Bold, bright and quirky designs capturing the hustle & bustle of city life.

I found all the layouts for the cards from Pinterest and was quite suprised how quick and easy the cards came together.

Quick & Simple

Hi all,

Thought I'd pop on with a few quick and simple cards today. To be honest I seem to be struggling with my mojo since Christmas and cant seem to get back into the swing of things.

Us girls on the Trimcraft design team were asked to come up with a selection of cards that could be made in about 10 mins, I decided to use one of the Grace Taylor collections and used the matching papers, die cuts and 3d stickers for a quick and easy make.

The layouts for the cards were inspired by some I found on Pinterest

Happy Mail

Hi all,

I'm here today showing my regular Monday posting from over on the MMCS Blog. This week is a free week so we can choose whatever we like to showcase to you lol.

For my card this week I have used a gorgeous image from one of The Hobby House Topper packs. I love using these and they are perfect for when I can't be bothered to get my pens out and colour! I stamped around the edges of the panel using a swirl stamp from Hobby Art

I really wanted to go for a nice cheery and spring like card so choose some bright and pretty papers from My Minds Eye - My Girl Pad and created a little scene with some dies. I added lots of gorgeous goodies from the £1 Embellishment packs available in store - Resin Daisy FlowersHeart ButtonStriped Candy Dots. I finished off with some lovely polka dot organza ribbon and a couple of paper roses.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, please do pop on over to the MMCS Blog during the week and check out my team mates fabulous creations.

Cheers

Hi all,

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and for those of you that had fun plans to celebrate the New Year, I hope your party went with a bang!.

I am a little late in posting this card, but over on the My Mums Craft Shop Blog this week we have a Celebrate theme. My card uses the fabulous image Victoria & Juliette's Night Out from Stamping Bella - these girls remind me of me and my bestie Tuesday night celebrating letting the New Year in. (if only I was that thin and had those gorgeous long legs sigh!!!!)

I teamed the image with some bright and funky papers from the My Girl Pad by My Minds Eye, and added a few flowers and some lovely stripy ribbon tied in a bow. To finish I topped the bow with a very blingy Large Sparkler & added a couple of Clear Gem Dots in the bottom RH corner to finish.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, please do pop on over to the MMCS blog during the week to see some more fabulous creations from my team mates.
