Happy Halloween

Hi all,

Just popping by to wish you a fun filled Happy Halloween, unfortunately for us it will be a quiet one as the kids are going to sleep at their Nan & Grandads for a couple of nights. So I think a trip to the cinema and a nice meal might well be on the cards lol!!!

Anyway thought I'd show you a couple of pics of our pumkin for this year (which will now go to my moms with the kids) and the treat bags I made for them as I dont take them trick or treating anymore as most people dont answer the door.

This is supposed to be a scary cat under a tree, I had a bit of a hiccup and accidentally sliced the cat off the pumpkin so its held back in place with some pins lol!!

Abbie's bag was made using the free digi image from Pink Gem Designs and Oli's was using an image I got off clip art. All the papers are various freebie digi Halloween papers.

Glamorize your Christmas

Hi all,

We have a new stamp launch over at Little Claire today - Gill has designed a new set of embellishments for the Changing Tree stamp and this time we have gone all glamorous with a set of Girly Embellishments - 7 gorgeous little stamps for just £3.99.

The set comprises of Hairdryer, Handbag, Shoes, Flower Basket, Perfume Bottle, Lipstick & Wine Bottle & Glass and they are just perfect for those girly cards that need to be a bit more grown up.

Now I have done a little twist with my card and have made a Christmas Card - What girl doesn,t like to look a bit glam over Christmas (especially New Years Eve) and who wouldn't like a tree like this for Christmas!!

The papers are a freebie from a mag and I have used some gorgeous organza & grossgrain ribbon. The poinsettia was originally white and I coloured it with my promarkers. The blingy brad is from Dovecraft and the sentiment was made on the computer and cut out using a spellbinders die.

Vintage Christmas

Hi all,

Have something a bit different to show you today, every so often in class my ladies like to do a sketch challenge. As I think this is a bit easy for them I often do the sketch with a technique of some sort. For these cards I got them doing a bit of distressing both with tools and inks - lets just say a few of them were a bit distressed with me at the end and a couple said they didn't like the effect and thought the cards looked like they were some old ones that had been found in the loft or something lol!!!. But at least its a technique that they now know how to do.

So as you can see all the edges have been distressed (using nail files) and then inked with Tea Dye Distress Ink (using shaving foam brushes - 60p Wilkinsons!!!). The images were stamped putting the coloured inks direct onto the stamps and a bit of stickles added to the tree. The papers were some old ones that came free with magazines.

Here is the sketch we used

Pumkin Patch

Hi all,

Another Halloween creation from me today, we have a new challenge starting over at Milkcoffee today and our theme is

Halloween

Now I don't make Halloween cards, there is no point as I have no-one to send them too like most people in the UK. Halloween isn't really a card giving occasion, just an excuse for the kids to get dressed up and eat lots of sweets. So I made another little wall hanging thought I could perhaps put them on the door just in case we got any treat or treaters, although we don't get that many. I used to take my two trick or treating but its got to the point now where most people don't bother answering their doors and Ab's was begining to get a bit disapointed so now we just have a bit of fun in the house and I make them some treat bags ups.

Anyway onto my creation, I have used the adorable image Lisbeth & Pumpkins - she looks so cute sitting there with her little friend. As I said I made it into a wall hanging by using a 6x6 chipboard shape as my base. I covered it with purple paper, then made up my topper as I would normally do for a card and stuck it on at a bit of an angle.

I don't possess any Halloween papers but thought these ones from Basic Grey - Go Green fitted the bill just perfectly and my little creatures & purple webbing were from a bag of mixed Hallowen things from the £1 shop.

Please do pop by the challenge blog and check out my team mates creations, join in the fun for your chance to win 3 digis of your choice from the store - trust me you will be spoilt for choice.

Boo!!! - To cute to spook

Hi all

Thought I'd share a little wall hanging I made with you today. I used a few of the Halloween Images - Edwards Monster Costume 2, Emilys Pumkpin Costume & Ursulas Witch Costume available from The Digi Garden and some BG papers - which are not halloween themed but match just right - infact I think the blk/wht one looks a bit like eyes!!. The letters I hand cut out and then distressed the edges to hide my dreadful cutting lol!!! and drew a couple of spiderwebs in the corners. The little creatures I got in a mixed bag of Halloween shapes from the £1 shop.

Another quick card to show you today, and without a cute stamped image in site.

Needing to make a card for Oliver from his sister that wasn't too cutesy I decided to use the fabulous Georgina's Rosettes from Little Claire.

I have used a couple of the rosette stamps, stamped onto different papers and layered up onto a folded rosette. The papers are from a MME pad and the happy birthday stamp is from Dovecraft.

Adore

Hi all,

I have a card to show you today that I have really enjoyed making. I actually found myself with some time on my hands to actually just make something just for fun and not for any DT or Challenge. I have had this gorgeous Saturated Canary image printed off for a while and just went to town on colouring her up.

I teamed the image with some gorgeous papers from Echo Park - Victoria Gardens and added lots and lots of WOC flowers with a couple of Cheery Lynn swirls behind them. A bit of dotty organza ribbon and TH ticket sentiment and a fabulous sparkly butterfly. You cant quite see it but there is some gorgeous lace hiding behind the flowers too.

In the pink

Hi all,

Today we are having a monochromatic showcase over on the Milkcoffee Blog. Us girls have been given a free choice on what image we would like to use as long as our card is in mono (skin & hair colours permitting) lol!!.

I have chosen to use the gorgeous Glamourous Tiffany in her long evening dress, and really had fun colouring up those folds and hair. I have gone for a pink theme and my background has been made using 3cm squares cut and arranged into the patchwork pattern Ohio Star, and although you cant really see it the whole piece has been embossed to give it a bit of texture.
(see Here for template of the pattern)

I have added some gorgeous organza ribbon -(originally wired which I just pulled out) - and a fabulous Cheery Lynn Swirl. The flower is made from a Spellbinders die and a few crystal flowers to finish.

Dont forget you still have time to enter our Welcome Fall Challenge over on our Challenge Blog for your chance to win 3 digis of your choice.
