Birthday Girl for Secret Crafter

* UPDATED Mon 2nd March* Have also decided to enter this card in the Colour Create challenge, whos colours this week are Brown & Blue.

I made this card following the sketch for Secret Crafter and decided that I like the colour scheme for the Basic Grey card so much I did another in the same colours. This time I used chick-a-dee instead of daisy.

The image is Sugar Nellie, paper is Basic Grey Offbeat, fabric flowers & gems are Papermania, sentiment is Craftwork Cards and the corners are from a Sizzix die cut out on the Big Shot.

Daisy for a special sister

I am going to try and get in front this year with my birthday cards, I usually leave them to the last minute. My sisters birthday is 9 days after mine so its not really that far away now. I decided to use my new Daisy stamp and have tried to fit the card in with a challenge. I have done the card using the colours Blue & Brown which were a combination you could pick for the Basic Grey Challenge.

The image is Sugar Nellie, papers are Basic Grey Offbeat collection, flower is 2 poppicafts doctored to fit together, Dovecraft brad, the gems are Papermania and I coloured them with a permanent marker to match the colour scheme, finished with a Craftwork Card oval sentiment.

Lyndsey xx

Chick-a-Dee in Pink & Grey

I decided to have a go at the Colour Create challenge, this week the colours are Pink & Grey. I dont think I could have picked a harder week to join, I could not find any pink or grey papers at all. In the end I went for grey cardstock and some white paper with pink flowers on, hope its ok. The added extra was cute and cuddly, well I think this image is sooo cute and the little chick is quite cuddly. Hope you like the image it is my first one I have coloured with promarkers, does it look ok.

The image is a new Sugar Nellie stamp called Chick-a-Dee, not sure who the paper is buy I just found it in my stash. Ribbon & gems are papermania, the flowers have been made using 2 different size X-Cut flower punches, the sentiment is by Craftwork Cards.

MIL Birthday meets the Sugar Bowl

Its my mother in laws birthday on Thursday and I have made her these 2 cards, one off us and one off the kids. As they both feature Sugar Nellie images and only 1 piece of patterned paper, I am entering them into this challenge.

This one is off Rich and me, the image is by Leanne Ellis at Sugar Nellie coloured in with whipsers pens and them chalked over using orange & yellow chalks. (you cant really see it in the pic but it does look a lot more distressed IRL .The pape is My Minds Eye and I have dulled it down a bit again with some yellow & orange chalks. Flowers are Prima with a charm from ebay, little pink gems from Papermania and lace from my shop. I have also done some REAL!!!! stitching round the edges of the paper & the image. (Dont know why the flower looks so bright on the pic IRL it actually matches the paper).

This one is off the kids and I have used another SN stamp called Sweet & Sassy, The paper is My Minds Eye an again I have stitched around the edge. Flower is Prima & Poppicraft with a Dovecraft flower brad in centre, Dovecraft organza ribbon and the sentiment I have generated on the computer.

With Love for Friday Sketchers

Fabulous sketch over on the Friday Sketchers Challenge blog this week. I have yet again used a new Sherbet (can you tell I love them!!!) and picked some fun and funky papers to add a bit of brightness to this chilly day. I have sliced my card off on the diagonal to fit the sketch and I kinda like how it looks.

My little lovely sherbet has been coloured in using Whispers pens, papers are Papermania Spring Burst, Papermania pearl brads and sentiment sticker. The flower is poppicrafts with a Dovecraft flower brad in the centre and the swirl and corner piece were made using my Big Shot and a Sizzix die.

Lyndsey xx

Truely Scrumptious meets Sherbet

There is a fabby sketch to follow over on a new challenge blog Truely Scrumptious. I decided to use one of my new Sherbet's from polycraft, and went with a nice bright colour combo. I have to say I loved working with this sketch, and really like how the card has turned out. I have done the inside as well but didnt bother to put a piccy up as I do them all mostly the same.

I coloured sherbet in using Whispers pens, the papers are Basic Grey Cupcake, flower is a mixture of Poppicraft, Prima and a Dovecraft flower brad, Dovecraft ribbon and Papermania sticker sentiment and small pearl gems.

Lyndsey xx

Get well Soon !!

The theme over at the Penny Black challenge is to create a get well soon card.

I found this lovely piece of paper in the Basic Grey cupcake pack and I just think its gorgeous, so I based my card around the paper. The image is a PB stickeroo and the scalloped circle has been cut out using my Big Shot and then the holes have been punched using my Cropodile. The flower little gems in the top corners and sticker sentiment are from Papermania and the ribbon is Dovecraft.

Lyndsey xx

Signs of spring

The theme over at CCT this week is signs of spring, what an excuse to use one of my new PB stamps. I thought these cute little rabbits really echoed that theme. I used some fab flowery paper from a Papermania easter pack and added some lovely spring colour flowers to finish off.

Image is Penny Black, Papermania paper & sticker sentiment, Doodlebug paper frill, ribbon bow & buttons from stash.

2 Awards and some exciting news for Prima Crafts

Sorry for being a bad blogger for the last week, but I have been so tied up with work doing the demo on Sat and then being at the NEC trade show on Sun & Mon I have had very little time for myself.

I have been given these fab awards from some blogging friends. The Friends award is from the lovely Fern & the Beautiful Blogger award is from the lovely Carly.

Now onto some exciting news (for Prima Craft Customers anyway). As you know Emma and I spent the weekend at the NEC sourcing some new products for the shop. We are having a bit of out with the old and in with the new. We are moving away from one of our major suppliers (cant tell you who on here, but you will know when you come in the shop and see a lack of their products). So we have tried to get some fabby new stuff in to replace them, and I can give you a sneeky list of some of the items.

Firstly we are going to be stocking the fab new range of decoupage sheets from LAPASHE, these fabulous Flippin Men & Women are so funny and are sure to add some fun to your cards. There are 20 men & 20 women in total and we will be building up our stocks over the next couple of months. They also produce the fab Remember When... decoupage kits and again we will be stocking those. Check out their website for more pics of these fab decoupage images http://www.lapashe.com/

We are going to be stocking Sizzix's fab new range of dies for their Big Shot and Sidekick machines featuring the gorgeously cute Hello Kitty and friends. They are also bringing out some fab new textured embossing folders (a bit like the cuttlebug ones).

These Fabulous creations are from a new company called COLOUR MY WORLD, they are templates from their MORE THAN WORDS collection. We are going to be stocking these templates to start with and will then be moving on to their other fab ranges of templates. Check out their website for more details http://www.colourmyworld.co.uk/ .

We will be stocking some fab new TRIMCRAFT ranges that will be released over the coming few months, Kate Knight is bringing a fab new collection out. There is the fabulous new collection from Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen, and a great collection from MY MINDS EYE. There are also some fab new paper and card stacks from DCWV. Check out their site for more details http://www.trimcraft.co.uk/

We are also going to be stocking some new products from PERSONAL IMPRESSIONS featuring names such as, SPELLBINDER (yes we are getting Nestabilities), K&Co, MARTHA STEWART (I nearly wet myself when I saw them punches on the stand!!!!) and a fabulous range of silk & paper Flowers. The best thing about this is that each shop will have the PI catalogue and even if we dont stock it in the shop the items can be purchased to order, and even delivered direct to your house if needed. How good is that !!!!!! check out their website for details http://www.personalimpressions.com/

CRAFTHOUSE PRESS who bring you the fabulous JOLLY NATION, have brought a fab new range of A4 Die Cut images and matching backing papers featuring some gorgeous new designs of Babies, Toddlers, Movie Stars the list just goes on. They are also bringing out SCOOBY DOO & LOONEY TUNES decoupage. check out their website for details http://www.crafthousepress.co.uk/

Finally we will be stocking a fab new product range from the fabulous Stephaine Weightman who you will all know from Create & Craft. There will be a fab range of products from Clear Stamps, Decoupage, Craft CD's and Templates, with a different theme each month. I will give you a sneeky bit of info for the first 2 months which are Art Deco & Hollywood Greats !!!!!

Coming soon will also be Penny Black stamps and Joanne Sheen CD's and Stamps.

Well I hope thats given you something to think about, I for one can tell you I am really exctied about the coming months at Prima.

A bird in the hand is worth !!!!!!!!!!

This card is for another 8 year old girl and again I have used colourful bp's and a cute Sugar Nellie image. I forgot I had this stamp and found it when I was having a sort out. I followed the sketch over on A Spoon full of Sugar and hopefully am still in time for the challenge.
The image is Sugar Nellie (obviously), the papers are Papermania spring burst, Craftwork Cards oval sentiment and the flower is a mixture of Prima & Poppicraft with a cute button in the centre (which dosent look the same colour in the pic but is in real life).
Lyndsey xx

I love Shopping !!! & a new venture

I have had to make a card for an 8 year old girl. Having recently had a spending spree at the Glitter pot where I purchased some fab Rachelle Ann Miller stamps I decided to use this sassy shopper image. All girls love shopping dont they!!! and I think these designs appeal to kids because of their cuteness.

The card is a gatefold with the flap being stuck down using a basic grey magnetic snaps. The papers are Basic Grey Euphoria, the flowers are a mixture of Prima & Poppicrafts with a fabulous Papermania sparkley gem in the centre. The pink gems on the LH side are Papermania and the ribbon is from the new Anitas collection (which I have had 1 spotty, & 1 stripy of every colour!!!). The sentiment is one of my own designs that I have made and am now selling on ebay.

AsIi just said above I have decided to sell the circle sentiments that I designed on Ebay. I was going to go down the stamp route but a certain company let me down and I cant afford to do them myself so for the time being this is how I am going to sell them. I am hoping someday to turn them into stamps. I have also put some images on there as well as I have had a few emails from people who dont come to the shop and would like to buy the images. I can tell you that for everyone of these packs of images or circle sentiments that are sold I will be making a donation to the CYSTIC FIBROSIS TRUST which as you know is a charity close to my own heart. I have actually been deeply disapointed with Ebay as we had a letter from the CF Trust the other day to say that we could now donate a % to them off any item sold on ebay. This was one of the factors that made my decision on where to sell these items. However after setting it all up today and chosing the CF Trust as my charity, once I got to the bottom and read the terms and conditions it states that no matter what % you chose to donate a min of £1 per item will be donated. Well I am only selling the bloomin things for 99p per pack and need to keep some to cover the costs, so that put paid to that. So in the end I have decided to do it seperately and pay them the % each month direct from my paypal account. So do pop over and have a look my user name on there is Lyndsey1044, obviously the more I sell the more money goes to the CF Trust.

Also I will just quickly mention that in May I am doing a 5 mile walk for the trust, so as soon as this snow disappears I will be putting my trainers on and getting some practice in cause believe me I am so unfit its shamefull. Oli is doing this walk with me so I cant have my 7 year old son showing me up can I !!!!. So if any of you customers of Prima Crafts see me walking round the drive looking worn out, please give me a kick up the backside and tell me to get a move on lol!!!!!!!

A carton of love!

Have a look at this !!!!!.

This fabby box has been designed by the wonderful Katharina, you will find the tutorial here . As you know I have been asked by my boss to demo all our new products once every couple of months. Not content with showing just cards I want to show other things that look fab but are relatively simple to make. So I have been scouring the web for inspiration and little knicknacks, when I came across this on Katharina's blog. It was so simple to make, her tutorial is fab with clear step by step instructions and pics you cant possibly go wrong.
I have used DB sided cardstock from Papermania, Anitas ribbon, Papermania gem stones, paper flowers from the Range and this gorgeous Tilda image. Now the reason for using this particular image is that it reminds me of a girl getting ready for bed with her little teddy. I am using the box to put in a little present for my mom off the kids, and the present is going to be some sachets of Hot Chocolate (Bev if you are reading this they will obviously be the low cal ones you know only 1 ww point per sachet!). So I thought this image would be quite apt.
Hope you like, and if you do feel inspired do check out the tutorial on Kathatrina's blog.
Am off now to have a go at The Paper Beads & Tag Card on the Sugar Sugar Blog.
If you know of anywhere else I can look for a bit of something different do let me know, all suggestions will be gratefully received.

Sitting pretty

Friday Sketchers have a great sketch to follow this week. Very clean and simple with plenty of room for adding those little extras.

I received this gorgeous little Tilda image from a blogging buddy and you know for the life of me I couldnt work out whether she was standing or sitting. (have been having a blonde day). In the end I decided she was sitting so cut round her hands, dress and feet and threaded a strip of paper through.

Papers are Basic Grey Ambrosia, Papermania pearl brads, Prima flowers & Craftwork Cards oval sentiment.

Lyndsey xx

Summer in the Winter

This card is to cover 2 challenges, sorry to be doubling them up but I have missed so many the last couple of weeks whilst being busy with demo samples. I wanted to do as many as I could this week. Anyway the theme over at Stamp Something is Summer in Winter (use nice bright summery colours & images). Over on the Basic Grey challenge blog there is a fabby sketch to follow.

As you can see I have gone for the nice bright and summery colours of the Basic Grey 2 Scoops paper pack. The image is Hanglar, Craftwork Cards oval sentiment & flowers from stash with Papermania pearl brads in the centres.

Lyndsey xx

Going round in a circle.

The Penny Black challenge blog was a hard one for me this week. You have to make a circle card or creation. How the bloomin eck am I gonna cut a decent circle card was my 1st thought. Then I remembered, I have the Xcut circle shape cutter at the moment (borrowed) so I had a go with that, remembering to leave a bit at the top.

The image is called Fun Times, paper is Basic Grey Offbeat, small Papermania gem stones, Dovecraft ribbon & Craftwork Cards oval sentiment.
Lyndsey xx

Black & White with a touch of Red

I have had a wonderful afternoon and evening crafting. Abbie is over her nans as both me & Rich are at work tomorrow and Oli has been otherwise occupied with his PS2. So I have a few cards to show you tonight. This card is to cover 2 challenges Charizma where the theme is Black & White with a touch of one other colour & Cute Card Thursday which is Valentine.

The image is a Leanne Ellis from Sugar Nellie, papers are Dovecraft, ribbon & brad are Papermania & flowers from the Range

Cocolate Wrapper

Another sample from the demo was the Chocolate Wrapper, again people asked me for measurements and I promised to put them on my blog. So here they are!!!.

These measurements are for a Cadbury's Dairy Milk bar approx 140g

Take a piece or paper or cardstock A4 or 8 x 8, these do not have to be cut down on the width.

Score line 1 at 4cm up from the bottom.
Score line 2 at +1 cm up from 1st line.
Score line 3 at +9cm up from the 2nd line.
Score line 4 at +1cm from the 3rd line.
Cut off on line 5 at +6 cm from the 4th line (this then give you 1cm for the fold over).
Put a piece of DB sided tape along the very edges of the paper between line 2 & 3 and along the width of the paper along line 5.
Pop the chocolate face down between line 2 & 3. Wrap the chocolate and fold line 5 over by 1cm and stick down.
Pinch the edges of the wrapper together either side of the chocolate between lines 2 & 3.
Decorate as required.

Again hope this info makes sense.

Lyndsey xx

A small request

LOOK at this card !!!!!!!!!!
As you know I did my first demo yesterday and it went really well. Everyone was very complimentry and I think they liked my samples. The reason for this post is to show you this fabulous card. I was given this yesterday by a little friend, her name is Fern and she has been coming into the shop for a while now and I try to give her little things every so often. She sent me this card yesterday to say thank you, now I dont know about you but I think this card is gorgeous and when I tell you that she is only 11!!!!!! well she is just so talented.
She has now set up her own blog, she only did this yesterday after I told her to, so there is only one card on her blog at the moment. Her blog address is www.thecraftingadventuresofan11yearold.blogspot.com.
Please, please visit her blog and become a follower as I am sure she is going to be putting some amazing creations on there.
Thanks Lyndsey xx
