You are Awesome

Happy Sunday!,

It's the end of another week and also the end of February, which means this is my last card as part of my guest month at Time for Tea Designs. I have really enjoyed sharing my creations with you over this past month and quite sad its all over.

On a more cheerful note tomorrow we say hello to March, bringing with it the start of spring and hopefully brighter days. March also means Mother's Day will soon be upon us, so I have used the adorable Smitten Kitten stamp set to make a cute slimline Mother's Day card.

To start with I stamped and coloured the cute kitty's with my Spectrum Noir markers (colours listed below in order of lightest to darkest)

Kitty's  TN2, CT4, GB5
Balloons & Heart Box
Yellow - CT1, CT3, CT4
Red - CR10, CR11, DR3
Pink - BP1, BP2, BP5, BP7

To make the back ground I cut out the Lots Of Love Slimline Die from scrap card to use as a stencil. Using distress inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple to create my ombre look. I then cut the panel out using one of the outer dies from the Slimline Scalloped Trio Circle Nesting Dies

I used the You Are Awesome Sentiment Die along with stamps from my stash to create my sentiment which I added to the middle of the card. The kitty's were placed above and beneath the sentiment and I added a circle cut from velum behind them just to make them pop from background a little.

I added a few clear sequins randomly around the card to finish off.

Thank you for popping by the blog today.

Let's have fun!

Whoop whoop it's Friday, it's been a rough week but the weekend is just round the corner within touching distance!

I wanted to make a fun card using my MFT Zippy Zebras. I loved this cutie on the bike and thought I would use it make a bright fun card suitable for either a male or female.

I coloured my images using my Spectrum Noir markers (colours listed below in order of lightest to darkest)

Zebra - IG1, IG3, IG5
Bike - CR10, CR11, DR3
Tyres - IG5, IG7, IG7
Butterflies & Flowers - CT1, CT3, CT4

For the card I decided on a circular card which I cut out using my largest stitched circle die, taking a regular 6x6 card blank and making sure to overlap the die over the fold line. I trimmed a small section off the bottom back of the card so it would stand still and not roll and then cut another complete circle to add to the front.

I covered the card with red scallop patterned paper cut from a the next size circle down.

I wanted to create a scene and liked the idea of using a frame offset on the card to create the scene within. I stencilled the clouds using the Scene it 6x6 Stencil and added a strip of green card across the bottom.

I finished off by stamping a couple of sentiments to the frame and added a few randomly placed gems around the scene.

Sweet Dreams

Hello everyone,

Happy hump day! I'm saring another card with you today as part of my guest month with Time for Tea Designs.

I loved this sweet kitty from the Smitten Kitten stamp set and wanted to put her on a card all by herself. She looks so blissful and comfortable there dreaming of sweet things!

I coloured the kitty up with my Spectrum Noir markers (listed lightest to darkest)

Kitty - BG1, BG3, BG5, BG7
Cheeks & ears   - CR3, CR2
Chocolates - TN5, TN7, TN9
Chocolate heart - CR3,  CR2, CR6

I used a standard 6x6 card blank cut down to 12cm wide and rounded off the bottom corners. I wanted a clean and simple look so opted for just 1 piece of patterned paper with a couple paper strips across the card to give my cat a grounding.

The sentiment is a mix of sets with the 'Dream' from the Unicorn in Training stamp set and the cute heart patterned paper is also from T4TD.

Take it Easy

Good morning,

I hope everyone had a great weekend, we are back to Monday and the start of a new week. So to brighten up this gloomy Monday I am sharing this sweet slimline card using the adorable Be Slothy stamp set from Time for Tea Designs. These images are so fun and cute and I just love them!

I coloured the images using my Spectrum Noir markers (listed in order lightest to darkest)

Sloth - body EB2, GB8, GB10
face/belly - EB1, EB2
Eyes - EB5, EB7
Branches - TN5, TN7, TN9
Leaves - CG1, CG3, DG3
Flowers - CR10, CR11

To create the card I took a pre scored DL card blank and stencilled clouds down the centre using the Scene it 6x6 stencil. I then used the Slimline Scalloped Circle Trio Die set to cut a panel from white card and created the leaf pattern with the Tropic Like It's Hot Stencil finally stamping a few orange flowers with the small flower from the stamp set. I added the panel to the card with foam tape to give a bit of depth.

I added the sloths to the card so they were peeking out of the apertures, and popped a little flower by each sloth. The stamp set has some great sentiments so I stamped a few up and added them to the card to finish off.

I hope my card has given you a cheerful start to the week. Thanks for popping by my blog today.

Happy Anniversary

Happy Sunday everyone,

I'm back today with another card for my guest slot with Time for Tea Designs using the Smitten Kitten stamps. Still on the love theme with these cuties, but as Valentines Day has been and gone his time I've used the cute kitty couple image for an Anniversary card.

I adore this cute pair and they are just perfect for anniversary/wedding cards.

I coloured the couple up with my Spectrum Noir markers using the following colours (darkest to lightest)

Left kitty - GB5, CT4, FS7, FS5, TN2
Right Kitty - BG7, BG5, BG3, BG1

For the background I used the Sparkle Cover Plate Die cut from white card and backed with pink polkadot paper, matted onto bright pink card.

For the scene I took a plain heart and inked the clouds using the Scene it 6x6 Stencil. The grass was cut from the Landscape Edges die set. I layered up the 'happy sentiment die to give it some dimension and stamped the 'anniversary' from the stamp set in the bottom right hand corner to finish.

Thank you for popping by my blog today.

Mum

Hi everyone,

Its definitely a TGIF day today, I have had a super busy week at work this week and am looking forward to relaxing and getting crafty over the weekend.

Today I want to share a card with you using the adorable MFT Koala-ty Time stamp set. I just thought this image was so cute and really lended itself towards a Mother's Day card.

I took a piece of spotty paper,  added a strip of red paper down the centre and then matted it into red card; which I then adhered to my card base. For my card base I use a 6x6 pre scored base which I cut down to 12cm wide. I then cut a scalloped panel from white card and die cut a circle towards the top of the panel.

Before adding the panel to my card I popped a piece of a stencilled cloud background behind and then added a strip of grass across the front to give my koalas something to sit on. (Cloud Stencil & Grass Die from Time for Tea Designs)

I coloured the images with my Spectrum Noir markers (colours listed lightest to darkest)

Koala - BG1, BG3, BG5  cheeks & ears - CR3, CR2
Jumper (mom) - CR8, DR2, DR3 (baby) - LG1, LG2, LG3
Tree - TN5, TN7, TN9
Leaves - CG1, CG2, DR3

To finish off I added the die cut Mum (which I layered up 3 times) and  stamped sentiment to the bottom of the panel.

Thank you for popping by my blog today.

Hello Chocolate

Hi all,

So I'm sharing another card today as part of my guest slot for Time for Tea Designs. This is the 3rd card from the set I made that has a Valentines/Love theme.

I decided to make a card that wasn't for anything in particular (you know sometimes you just get an idea in your head thats for nothing at all) and as soon I as saw the big Hello sentiment die along with the Smitten Kitten stamps I knew my sentiment had to be "Hello Chocolate" - (I mean isn't that what we all say!?!)🤣

I coloured the image with my Spectrum Nior with the following colours:

Kittens
main body - BG1, BG3, BG5, BG7
ears - C3, C2.

Chocolate Boxes - CR8, DR2, DR3

Ribbon - C3, C2, C6.

Chocolates - TN5, TN7, TN9.

For the card I decided on a cute circular card which I cut out using the largest stitched circle die, taking a regular 6x6 card blank and making sure to overlap the die over the fold line. I trimmed a small section off the back piece of the card so it would stand still and not roll, then cut another complete circle to add to the front.

I kept to the pink, red, black and white colour scheme to give it a fresh look and tbh love how it turned out.

Hope you have enjoyed my card, thanks for popping by my blog today.

You're my Zebra

I can safely share the hubby's Valentines card today without fear of him seeing it on social media before the day 🤣🤣

I used the fabulous MFT zippy zebras stamp set to create this sweet scene.

I wanted to create a card that wasn't too soppy or girly as that is not my hubby, so this set was perfect. I used bright and funky striped pattern from the MFT positively preppy paper pad for the background.

For the scene I used sky mermaid lagoon distress ink and the Scene it 6x6 Stencil from Time For Tea Designs for the sky, along with the Landscape Edge Standalone Die for the grass. The zebras were given just a hint of colour for shading with my Spectrum Noir pens.

Happy Chocolate Day

Hello everyone, Lyndsey here and I am pleased to be back in the world of blogging after taking an extended break.

I am thrilled to have been asked to be a Guest Designer for Time for Tea Designs  for February 2021. So today I am sharing a project both here and on the T4TD blog using some of the fabulous items that I was so lucky to receive. I can't tell you how excited I was when my parcel arrived and I saw the adorable Smitten Kittens stamp and die set along with a selection of beautiful dies, I was absolutely in my element!

So onto my card, the stamps and dies in my package were just perfect for Valentines Day makes and as soon as I saw the Horizontal Heart Aperture Slimline Add On Die Set I knew I was it just perfect for a shaker card (this girl loves a cute shaker!).

So I started by cutting my trio heart die from red card - now from the name you will see that this die is an add-on die and is made to coordinate with other slimline dies and only cuts out the heart apertures, so I used a standard rectangular slimline die from my stash to actually cut out the panel. If you have the Slimline Scalloped Trio Circle Nesting Dies set, this would be perfect for this. You can't really see it in the photo but I did go round the edge of the panel with Candied Apple Distress Ink using one of the Blender Brushes (oh my these are fabulous!!) I then cut a slightly larger panel from a pinky coral colour card so that I would end up with a mat of colour showing all around.

To make my shaker element I stuck a piece of acetate to the back of the hearts panel,  then added foam tape all around the edges and between each heart to create 3 window sections. I filled each section with a selection of sequins and then cut a slightly smaller piece of white card which I added to the back of the panel to enclose my shaker sections. I attached the panel onto the larger pink panel and the adhered the whole piece onto a pre made DL card blank.

The cute kitties were stamped using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers for my colouring. I used the following colours (listed in order of lightest to darkest).

Kittens
main body - BG1, BG3, BG5, BG7
ears - C3, C2.

Chocolate Boxes & Red Balloon - CR8, DR2, DR3

Ribbons & Pink Balloons - C3, C2, C6.

Chocolates - TN5, TN7, TN9.

Once all coloured I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out all my images (these make the job so much quicker & easier than having to fussy cut- well worth investing in the dies) and then adhered them to my card using tacky glue adding a kitty to each heart aperture.

I stamped the sentiment "happy chocolate day" from the stamp set and added this to the top right hand corner of my panel.

To finish my card off I took the Lots of Love Slimline Die and cut out a few hearts using a black and white striped paper, I added 3 of these to my panel just to give it a little pop of something extra and finally added a few randomly placed Clear Drops to complete my card.

I really enjoyed using the Smitten Kittens set for my project and hope that my shaker card inspires you to make one of your own. You will find this card and a few others I have made with the Smitten Kittens set over on my Instagram page @the_crafty_blonde
