To read or not to read?

Hi all

Well its been a while since I last posted on here, tbh things have not been too good here with Abbie's health and life and all that boring stuff has gotten in the way of my crafting. In all fairness I haven't made a card in while though as I seem to be in a bit of a CBA mood lol.

But today I do want to show you a couple of picture of my latest obsession - The Art of Book Folding. I came across these beautiful patterns folded into books at my local Craft Centre and straight away fell in love with them and decided I wanted to have a go myself.

Well a couple of trips to the charity shop later and after searching online I managed to find a few groups on FB to join where I have found a wealth of help & advice from much more talented people than me, who not only fold their books but even make their own patterns as well. Some of these peeps are also very generous and give you some of their patterns for free to try out before buying off them. Its something I am finding very therapeutic and love seeing the outcome.

Anyway here are a couple of pic of my latest creations - First of all meet Mrs Prickle, my adorable little hedgehog friend.

Here's a heart I made for my friend who just had an operation and was feeling a little down.

Home - made just for me to sit on my shelf lol

And finally a Butterfly I made for my mom as she loves them lol

I have also set up a FB page now as well to show off my creations (cards, gifts and bookart) and hopefully sell some. I would love it if those of you who are on FB popped over and gave me like would be much appreciated thank you, you can find my page by clicking on the following link - Handmadebylyndsey

Thanks so much for popping by my blog today, will be back soon as have a few Crafters Companion samples I haven't shown you yet that I need to blog.

Fairy wishes

Hi all,

I have had this sweet fairy image coloured up for quite a while now so decided it was time I finally got her onto a card.

The gorgeous image is from Tiddly Inks Stamps and is available as either a clear stamp or digi

I teamed the image with some very pretty Kaisercraft papers that were free with a magazine a few moths back,  as was the fabulous vellum bunting.
The sentiment is from a CC Design set and I finished off with a few paper and resin roses and gorgeous organza bow.

Rubba, dub dub!

Hi all,

Here today to show you a little creation from me using the new Brambly Hedge CD Rom available from Crafters Companion on Create & Craft today.

There are 2 disks chocabloc full of all the usual CC goodness with a few new extras thrown in. One of them being the templates to make this fabulous little Easel Box Card.

It really is so easy to put together, everything is pre- printed and you literally just cut it out and assemble lol. All the templates for the rolled flowers are included too and you just then need to add your finishing touches - simples.

However if you are stuck I have done a full step by step tutorial on how to make this box which should be on the CC website very soon.

Hey Gorgeous!

Hi all

It's time for a new challenge at All Dressed Up.

Our theme for this fortnight is :  Autumn Colours

So think of all those gorgeous red, brown, orange, olive green tones

Here is my card - I used the fabulous image - Looking Gorgeous - now to be honest I have had this image printed up for ages but have been really intimidated to colour her. I was so sure that I would cock up the hair
as I am still getting used to colouring with the SN's. Its not 100% as good as I would like but I have to say I am pretty pleased with how she turned out.

I teamed the image with some old MME papers - I only had a few sheets left but the colours were just perfect for the challenge. I added a gorgeous bow from stitched ribbon and a few flowers to finish off.

Please pop on over to All Dressed up blog to check out the rest of my team mates creations, and why not enter the challenge whilst you are there. This challenge will run until 15th September and you could win yourself 3 images of your choice.

 **Please note**
To enter our challenges you MUST use an All Dressed Up Image or Papers.

Don't forget to stop by our Facebook Group to keep up to date with all the latest All Dressed Up news, and chat to fellow crafters.

My Favorite Image

Hi all,

Sob, sob, tears down face!!!!!! - It's a very sad day over at Ladybug Crafts Ink - Head ladybug Kerry has decided to close Ladybug Crafts Ink after 5 fabulous years. This is our last challenge and will end 30th September.

We have invited retired Ladybugs and GD's to join in with our Grand Finale choosing their favourite LCI image whether it's a cling stamp or digi.

Now with every closing down comes a SALE and boy have we got a sale for you!

ALL cling stamps will be on sale from today for 1 pound and all ribbon, felt, buttons and nailheads are 30% off. The Swarovski crystals will NOT be in the sale.

We hope you'll join us in our final challenge which will be CHOOSE YOUR FAVOURITE IMAGE. We would love it if it was an LCI image but it doesn't have to be.

There will be 2 prizes....One for the challenge and one for the challenge using an LCI image.

Anyway here is my card using one of my favorite images - Handbag Nikki

The Nikki collection was the first range of stamps from LCI that caught my eye and fell in love with. In fact the Nikki range was one of the first ranges of stamps I stocked in my old shop. So its fitting that I use a Nikki to say goodbye with.

I coloured Nikki up with my SN's and teamed her with some fabby papers from Echo Park - We are family. I kept the layout quite simple and finished off with a few flowers and gems.

Please do pop on over to the LCI Blog and check out the fabulous creations.

Classic Christmas

Hi all,

More cards to show you today using the fabulous Snowman & the Snowdog papercrafting kits.

For this card I used the Theater pop out card, but cut it all up to make a Gatefold style card - so this is the front closed
(I did re-adjust the wonky gem at the bottom before I sent it off lol)

Then this is the inside which I decorated up using a couple of sheets of the 6x6 papers

Another of the Snowstar card designs

Another version of the Pop out Box card - this time I popped acetate over the apertures and added the image to the inside back

And a few more cards using the Toppers & A4 Card Sheets

Snowman & Snowdog

Hi all,

Well I have been super busy over this last week, so much so that the cards I am going to show you today are a little late and what should have been sneak peeks are now more of a recap collection lol.

This week over on Create & Craft - Crafters Companion have seen the release of a new Snowman & Snowdog and Father Christmas collection. There were 2 CD Roms, 2 Papercrafting Kits, Mega Decoupage, 6x6 Papers, Acetate & Inserts.

I was lucky enough to work with the Papercrafting Kits and made a massive 37 cards in total, so will show them to you over the next few days.

So first of all the there are 3 different designs of concept cards within the kit -

Theater Card

Snowstar Card

Popout Box Card

Then there is the fabulous Mega Decoupage, which I teamed with some of the A4 Card sheets and the fabulous acetate

And finally there are 6 sheets of gorgeous toppers which I have used along with the A4 Card sheets & Acetate to make these

I really enjoyed working with this kit and could have made have loads more but ran out of time. I loved the cards I made so much I didn't want to send them off -  so I have treated myself to another kit so I can remake for my own Christmas Cards lol!

I still have lots more cards to show you over the next few days, so please do pop back throughout the week to see the rest.

Happy birthday to Ewe!!

Hi all,

I have a little card to show you today that I am very proud to say appears in the latest Issue (Issue 51) of Complete Cardmaking

Not only did I make the front cover with a card I made for another DT (see post here), you can also see this card in the top LH corner too lol. When I was making the cards for the magazine I didn't realise they were for the same one, so it was a nice surprise when I saw it.

Anyway this card is using a fabulous image from Ladybug Crafts Ink and is part of the latest release called Eunice & Ramsey - which as you can guess is a gorgeous collection of the most adorable sheep couple. There are a selection of images free with this issue of the magazine, or if you want the full range you can get them HERE.

The image was coloured in using PM's and I teamed it with some fabby papers from Amercian Crafts (totally love this pad). All the little embellishments were from the £1 range at My Mums Craft Shop and the sentiment was printed from the computer (I just had to do it lol).

We still have our challenge running over on the LCI blog, its a CAS challenge and would love you to join in. You could win yourself 2 stamps of your choice or 4 stamps if you use a LCI image (if you get the mag you have plenty to choose from lol). The challenge runs until 2nd Sept as our head ladybug has gone home on her holibobs for a while. When she comes back we have some very big news so keep your eyes peeled.

All wrapped up for Christmas

Hi all,

Last of my Party Paws samples today (hope I haven't bored you with them). These are some more of the samples I made using the Papercrafting Kit and again I have tried to make them a little less pick and stick and into something a bit more special.

I really do think the acetate makes these cards so much more luxurious and loved using it as wraps (like on the blue card) to give it extra dimension, in the way you can pop some of the pieces under it and others on the top to give more of a 3D feel.

I have totally loved working with this kit and really wish I could get my hands on another, but I am not going to buy the CD's just to get another kit - not when I already have them lol.

Paws for Christmas

Hi all,

Still on the Party Paws showcase today, I want to show you some more of the cards using the fabulous CD Roms.

There are lots of new card designs on the CD's this time around including fabby Easel Cards & Lanterns that you can see below as well as the usual and popular Card Companions & Megapage.

It really doesnt take much to turn these printed items into something special, just a bit of ribbon and a few flowers can really add to the look of the cards.

Lets celebrate Christmas

Hi all,

I hope those of you that tuned into Create & Craft over the weekend to check out the new Party Paws collection enjoyed the shows. I have some more cards to show you today but this time I used the fabulous Papercrafting Kit that is exclusive to C&C.

I love the ease of use of these kits and really wanted to show that just because its a Hunkdory Kit - It doesn't have to be a pick & stick card (which I think is generally the trend with HD kits) so I tried to make use of the A4 Cardstock in a different way and created cards with different folds etc, and of course I totally love the printed acetate that comes with this collection. So much so I have gone and ordered myself another 2 lots of it just to make sure I have enough for all my Christmas cards lol.

Hope I have given you some inspiration to look at these kits in a different way, to be honest (and I am probably one those people myself) I think there is sometimes a bit of snobbery when it comes to using kits like this, that it is not proper crafting as they are renouned for the beginner/ pick and stick crafter. But if you can use them in a different way like this and take the kit to the next level so to speak you can create gorgeous cards that do give that wow factor. - I have a few more to show you later on in the week, again using different folds.
