Sitting Pretty

Hi all,

I am running rather late with this post I am afraid - unfortunately was struck down with a bit of a stomach bug yesterday and was very ill for most of the day - infact dont think I managed to get out of bed until about 8pm last night. I still feel a bit ropey today but at least I have managed to eat something and keep it down.

Anyway yesterday we saw a new challenge over at Pink Gem and the theme this week was picked by me and I chose

Make it Cute

Well to be honest it can't be anything other with Janet's gorgeous images.

So for my card I chose to merge (I know get me!!) two digi's to make a little scene. The images I used were the adorable Thoughtful Chloe & cute little Wall Digi.

I teamed the images with some pretty LOTV papers and added lots of gorgeous flowers, ribbon and some pretty pearl swirls. I really wanted to make the card girly and pretty as, as you can see its been made for madam's birthday tomorrow.

The clouds in the background were done using a cloud stencil cut from card and blue chalk - my image as usual was coloured in using promarkers.

Please do pop on over to the challenge blog and check out my team mates fabby creations. Thanks for popping by my blog today.

Blocks

Hi all,

Just popping on today to show another class card I taught a few weeks back. The card is called a - Blocks Card - and is quite simple to make really and folds flat for postage too. I found the original inspiration on pinterest and rather than adding small stamped images - decided to add the gorgeous die flower and swirl in the corner.

The papers are from an old MME 12x12 pad called Penny Lane and they are just sooo gorgeous and glittery - thought it was about time I used them lol!!!. The swirl is a Cheery Lynn & the flower is a Marianne Design Ribbon Flower, Sentiment is from Ladybug Crafts Ink cut out with a SB Die

Thanks for popping by my blog today, please pop back tomorrow to check out my Pink Gem card - its my turn to set the challenge this week!!!

Sweet summer days

Hi all,

Sorry I am a bit late with this post today, not been feeling too well this morning and forgot to schedule my post last night.

Today sees a new challenge over at Milkcoffee and this fortnight our theme is

Anything but Square

I loved making my card for this theme, and it gave me perfect excuse to use my new Grand Nesities and finally get my Grand Calibur out of the box lol!!

I used the gorgeous image - Two little girls (so adorable) for my card and teamed them with some beautiful papers from LOTV.

I really wanted to make this card very feminine and girly - so went to town with lots of flowers, lace, ribbon and some lovely pearl swirls.

Please do pop on over to the challenge blog and check out my team mates fabby creations and join in the fun while your there too.

Sending Spring Smiles

Hi all,

Its time for a new challenge over at Inky Impressions today and this week our theme is

Spring/Easter

Well I tell you, you wouldn't think it was Spring or Easter here at the moment with all the bloomin snow & ice on the ground. I went a right cropper on Monday whilst on the way home on the school run, hurt all my leg, arm/elbow & back - have some right whopping bruises now and was very stiff and sore yesterday. So was feeling very sorry for myself yesterday lol!!

Anyway back onto the challenge -  I have used the adorable Flower Lili for my card today and coloured her up using my promarkers in some bright and spring like colours.

I teamed Lili with some gorgeous papers from MME, added lots of spring flowers, some pretty polka dot ribbon and my new little heart dies. All matted onto Kraft - love how this card came out in the end, looks really bright and cheerful.

Thanks for popping by my blog today

Picked Sweet for The Stamp Basket

Hi all,

Today I have my first post as Guest Designer over on the Stamp Basket Blog

Janet asked if I could make my first card using my favorite things from my DT kit - well how much stuff can you fit on 1 card - not as much as I would have liked. All of the items were just gorgeous and I found it soooo hard to choose - so I think all my cards that I will be making during my time as a GD will be using my favorite things lol!!!!

However for today I went with a totally gorgeous image and TBH I think she is my fave - Picked Sweet by Elisabeth Bell at Whimsy Stamps. I just love these Little Cottage Cuties they are so adorable and best of all you can find them in store in the sale too!!!!

I really went to town on this card making it girly and pretty and adding lots of lovely flowers.

All the items I used that can be purchased in Store are as follows

Sentiment - Whimsy, Ticket Notes
Stamping Card - Neenah Crest
Card - Bazzil, Parakeet & Kraft

Well I told ya I used a lot of stuff !!!, hope you like my creation,

Thanks for popping by my blog today

NEC Stash & One Direction

Hi all,

Well I have had a fabulous weekend, first up had a brilliant time at the LG with madam watching One Direction, we were singing and dancing and bopping along and tbh they were pretty good. Our seats weren't too bad, and they also had a little stage out in the middle of the arena that they came on and did a few songs. treated madam to a programme and lanyard thing and then we all went to the pub for tea when we got back.

So this is little miss all dressed up in her 1D T-shirt, necklace, bracelet and lanyard waiting for the concert to begin.

-------------------------------------------------

Then had a fabulous time at the NEC yesterday with Diane & Grace, we managed to get there ok, it was bit tricky untill we got to the motorway (think I drove about 15-20 mph thats all) but after that pretty much plain sailing. Spent loads of money and even did a little workshop with the WOW embossing powders. Was a bit dissapointed to see that some of my fave stores not there, but never mind. Bumped into a few of my class ladies having a bit of a spend too!!

Thought I'd show you a little piccy of my stash.

Got a few nesties that I have been after for a while including some Grand ones, so I can start using my Calibur. Lots of card, card blanks, new blades, tape, scoring & pokey tools for my classes & new plates for my Big Shot. Then some pretty things just for me - brads, flowers, ribbon, LOTV sentiment stamps & paper pad, pearl swirls, gorjuss paper pads and a cute little box in a book template top have a go at. Could have brought loads more  - as saw lots more pretty things that I wanted but run out of money at that point lol!!  least I got the nesties that have been on my wish list for ages.

Thanks for popping by my blog and having a nosey at my piccys. I know I like looking at all the fab goodies others have brought!!

Nephew - you're a star

Hi all,

Something a bit different from me today - no stamped image in site.

I needed to make a card for my nephew who was 14 at the weekend and knew that an image of a cute boy etc would not cut the mustard. So after spending time on Pinterest found the perfect card and tbh I more or less cased it.

It was quite a quick and easy card to make really, and one that I think I will make again. All the strips were cut from a MME pad and inked up for definition. I did a bit of random weaving with the strips and added a few die cut stars up on foam pads on the top.

Best Wishes Odd Girl

Hi all,

By the time this posts I should hopefully be on my way the NEC to spend a fabulous day crafty shopping with friends. Hopefully will have some piccys of my stash to show you tomorrow!!

This is another one of my JJF cards using a gorgeous Some Odd Girl Digi. I had a bit of a lull in my DT work  towards the end of last week so made time to play - although that is going to change next week as have been forwarned about some new goodies being sent my way and its my turn to post on all my teams next week, so I have a busy week ahead.

Quite please with how this one turned out, I followed an old Sketch Saturday Sketch and used some more fabby MME papers - I really don't think there is a pad I don't like. Love the layout of this and think I will be using it again.

Thanks for popping by my blog today

Vase of Delights

Hi all,

Its a very exciting day here in our household, madam and I  are going the the NEC to see the one and only One Direction in concert - I tell you I had to move hell & high water to get these tickets but finally managed to get some a few weeks back after months of trying!!!

She screamed the place down when we told her we had got tickets, so I can only imagine what she is going to be like later - ear plugs at the ready I think lol!!!

Anyway I was asked by my SIL if I could make her a card for MIL's 90th birthday. I dont normally do commissions as I don't really like to have to work to guidelines but she left if pretty open saying anything with flowers or butterflies so it wasn't too bad. However I knew that none of my pretty, cutesy images wouldn't cut it for a 90th and have to admit was struggling a bit until I remembered some images I won from Ladybug Crafts Ink a while ago.

The image I used is called Jug & Vase Delight and I teamed it with some pretty MME papers from the Howdy Doody pad. I chose to make an easel card so it looked a bit more special and added lots of yummy flowers and butterflies. I used some lace and ribbon to pretty it up even more and added a gorgeous flourish behind the flowers.

In the end I was really pleased with how it turned out and hopefully when I give to my SIL later she will like it.

Mary Mary quite contrary

Hi all,

I have JFF (just for fun) indulgence card to show you today. I have been playing with my La La Land cuties again and coloured a few up, but this one was calling out to be made into a card and I knew instantly that I wanted to create a little scene with her.

I teamed my adorable image with some fab papers from MME and used a Fence & Cloud Die to create a little scene. I really must get me a Grass Die at the weekend (going to the NEC whoop whoop!!!) but for now just used a strip of green paper instead.

I added a few flowers along the fence (which she has obviously been watering) and sort of made the doiley look like a technicolour sun in the background lol!! I also did a new size card for me too 15cm x 12cm quite like this size tbh not quite square but still bigger than an A6

Little Lady Bug & exciting news!!

Hi all,

Well I have a bit of exciting news for you today, I have been asked by the lovely Janet at The Stamp Basket to guest design for them for a few weeks. If you haven't popped by Janet's shop, please have a look as there are some gorgeous items to purchase and at the moment there is a fabulous Spring Sale with lots of reductions on many items.

So although I haven't actually started my time yet, I couldn't help but make a card using this adorable Saturated Canary Stamp - Little Lady Bug - how cute is she!!!! and to top it off she is in the sale with 15% off.

I used a 6x6 scalloped card blank & stamped my image using Memento Ink in black, coloured her with my promarkers and teamed my little lady up with some MME papers mated onto Black Bazzil Card, added  few flowers and some lovely organza ribbon. The big red flower I made myself out of lots of layers of red tulle & die cut scalloped circle.

The above items highlighted in pink can all be purchased from The Stamp Basket, and if you need some inspiration please do pop by the Design Team Blog.

Sweet Wishes

Hi all,

I have been having a play over the weekend with a few of my new stamps and made a few cards just for fun.

This is Sway Mae and she is a digi image from Some Odd Girl, got a few of these and I think they are really cute although most of my class ladies dont but each to their own lol!!!

Decided to keep this card pretty clean and simple as really wanted the focus on the image. Love how she has turned out, although made a little mistake with the shading on the hair but other than that am quite happy.

Teamed her with some pretty Echo Park papers and a few pearls.

Easter Basket

Hi all,

We have a new challenge over at Milkcoffee today and this fortnight our theme is

Go Green

Now you can interpret this 2 ways, you can either use green on your card or you can go green and recycle.

For my card I have chosen to go green and have used lots of recycled elements on my card. I have used the gorgeous image - Celine with basket of eggs - available in Store with lots of other fabulous designs.

So as I said I used lots of recycled things on this card - The ribbon is from my MIL's birthday cake from the other week, the butterfly is from a broken necklace/bracelet, the heart button is from a pair of Abbie's old jeans and the kraft matting is actually brown envelopes.

Please do pop on by the Challenge Blog and check out my team mates fabby creations.

Lamp Cards

Hi all,

Thought I would pop on today and show you another one of my class cards that I made with my ladies a few weeks ago.

I found the template for this cute Lamp shaped Card online and slightly changed the size of it to make it a bit larger than the original.

The bases have been embossed to give them a bit of texture and the lace trims have been made by punching a border along a 3cm wide strip and then running it through a crinkler. The roses were simply made by cutting a circle into a spiral and rolling it together with a small gem added into the center.

I have used various papers from the following Trimcraft First Edition Pads - Rose Garden, New Leaf & Daydream.

Thanks a Bunch

Hi all,

Have a pretty little card to share with you today,a just for fun card. have managed to colour up one of my new stamps and this one is a Stamping Bella image.

The image is called Lulu Loves Poppies, and I'll tell you it took bloomin ages to colour all those poppies up, but I really like how it came out in the end.

I have made another of those 14cm x 10.5cm clean and simple cards, I really like these at the moment and think they suit some images much better than a big  6x6 with loads of embellies.

The papers are from an Echo Park pad and I just added a pretty doiley and a few gems to finish.

Congratulations

Hi all,

I have a sweet little card to show you today, My cousin got engaged last Saturday to his long term girlfriend and they threw a massive party. A great night was had by all and it was such fun catching up with family and friends who we do not get to see that often. Abbie and I danced our feet off, so much my heels had to come off in the end lol!! and we didnt get back home until about 1am. Can you believe it I woke up on the Sunday to what felt like a hangover - I only had 3 bottles of still water all night (cant drink anymore due to my bladder problems boo!!).

Anyway thought I'd show you the card I made them, the week before in class I got the girls working to a sketch and doing a bit of paper piecing. So I used the sketch to make my card and have to say was pretty please with how it turned out.

The image is from Stampavie, coloured with promarkers and I rubbed a bit of the blender pen onto a clean dishcloth and held it onto the image to get the texture on the bears - just love the look it created. I teamed the image with some gorgeous First Edition - Rose Garden - papers and added a few flowers, lace & organza ribbon to finish.

Thanks for popping by my blog today.

My heart on a string

Hi all,

Well 2 weeks have passed and now we have a new challenge over at Pink Gem, we have some exciting changes happening soon so keep your eyes peeled.

This weeks challenge has been set by my teamie Donna and she has chosen the theme

Button It

so we need to see a least 1 button somewhere on your creation.

For my card I have used the adorable Chloe in Heart PJ's available in store for just £1.50 and have made a cute Circle Stepper Card.

I teamed Chloe with a gorgeous piece of paper I found from the few that were left in a Basic Grey - Bittersweet Pad. I decided to cut all my bit and pieces from black card to give it a nice contrast and tie in with her lovely long hair. I added a button to her slipper & bobble and 3 along the top of the back step (although to can't really see them in the photo) and finished off with a CC sentiment.

Please do pop on by the challenge blog and check out my team mates fabulous creations.

Papers on both cards are from MME and do ya like my felt flowers (especially the big one) they were such a bargin from Dunelm a while ago - they were only 50p per pack the big one was just 4 in a pack, but the little ones had about 20 bargin!!!.

Please pop on over to the blog and check out my team mates fabulous creations using this image.
