Swirly Bird

MilkCoffee Challenge

Hi all,

Well a fortnight has gone quickly hasn't it, its time for a new challenge over at Milkcoffee Challenges. We would just like to say a massive Thank You to all those of you who joined in our first challenge, it was great to see all your fabulous creations. Were you the winner? - why not pop on over and have a little looksie.

Anyway we are back today with a new challenge and our theme for this fortnight is

Throw on those Flowers

So again another easy challenge as we know that a lot of you just love your flowers, just like me!!!

Now technically I didn't throw my flowers on, but lovingly placed them where I wanted - so we don't mind if you do that too lol!!!. For my image I have used a gorgeous Digi Stamp called Swirly Bird which is available in store. Now I have to admit I found it really hard to colour at first, due to the thin lines of the swirls. Well a trip to the NEC last Sat and some Promarker Fine Nibs later and problem sorted, its well worth investing in a few!!. I have no idea what this bird is supposed to be, so my colours are just my artistic interpritation.

I have used some very summery coloured papers from a gorgeous DCWV paper pad called Cafe Mediterranean. The flowers are all from WOC and a fabby Cheery Lynn swirl (again picked up at NEC). What to you think of my bow, I picked up a Bow Maker whilst there too and had a play and created this fabby double bow, I have to say I am quite chuffed with it.

We would love it if you popped on over to the Challenge Blog and joined our 2nd challenge, also check out my team mates fabby creations whilst your there.

Thanks for popping by my blog today.

Gorjuss Talk - DT for MMCS

Hi all,

Today brings us a new challenge over at My Mums Craft Shop, after having a Digi Only challenge last week we thought it only fair that this week you could use a stamp. So our theme this week is

Stamp It

We would like to see your stamped creations, we are sponsered this week by the one and only

My Mum's Craft Shop

Who are giving away £10 to spend online for the winner.

So for my creation I chose to use some fabby products from the shop and went for a bit of a clean look to my card.

The very sweet image is a Gorjuss Girl and the papers are Echo Park - A walk in the park 6x6 paper pad. I have coloured the image with my promakers and have again tried the little dotty background around the image. The flowers were punched with a Tonic punch Flower Head. The ribbon is paper cellar and the little gem flowers I got from the floristry warehouse.

Please do pop on over to the challenge blog and check out my team mates wonderful creations, also join in the challenge for your chance to win - trust me you wont know what spend your winnings on so much lovely gorgeousness in store.

If the shoe fits!!! - DT for Totally Gorjuss

Hi all,

The weekend is upon us yet again, so it can only mean its time for a new challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. This week out theme is

Spots & Stripes

We don't mind what you use, as long as we can see spots and stripes on your creations.

We are sponsered this week by
Shop

For my card this week I have made a Joy Fold card, which for those who dont know is a little card on a big card. So my square image opens to the right, then you open the LH panel to revel your sentiment. I have kept it shut by using a bit of ribbon in a fancy bow.

I have used a fabby LOTV Die Cut Square for my image and this little cutie is just perfect for my sister who just like me has a bit of a pennant for shoes lol!!!!. The papers are MME Vanity Fair and the flowers are a mix of Prima and WOC. You have to be careful where you place embellies on these cards as you have to remember that the image opens out. The sentiment is another of those fab mag freebies and the colours just matched my card perfectly.

Please pop on over to the challenge blog and check out my team mates creations.

Thanks for popping by my blog today.

Party Time - DT for MMCS

Hi all

Wednesday is upon us again which can only mean its time for a new challenge over at
This week our theme is

DIGI ONLY

So we would like to see only digi images on your creations please.

We are sponsered this week by the very charming designs of

They very kindly let each DT member chose an image that they would like to work with for the challenge, so I chose to use this rather sassy and funky Scarlette Cupcake to work with.

Isnt she just fabulous!!!, I chose to make a Twisted Easel card and wanted to keep it quite simple and funky to go with the quirky image. I coloured the image with promarkers and tried a little dotty background around the image to give it a bit of depth. The papers are from a MME Stella & Rose pad and I just love the colours and designs in this pad -so much I have nearly used it all up!!!. To finish I added a few rolled roses cut by Marrianne Designs Die and a fabby blingy Prima Swirl. The sentiment was a freebie from a magazine a couple of months ago.

Patchwork Card

Hi all,

A bit of a late post from me today, have been suffering from a bad back since Fri and am only just feeling ok today. (my weekend posts have been scheduled!!).

Anyway thought I would pop on today and show you the card we made last week in class. I was totally inspired by a card I saw whilst browsing on Pintrest so had a play around with it and then taught it to my class last week.

The squares are 3cm x 3cm, and it is made using 3 different papers, following the Ohio Star Pattern. Matted onto a 12.5cm x 12.5cm piece of coloured card, then 13.5cm x 13.5cm white card, 14cm x 14cm coloured card and finally attached to a 6"x6" card blank. The patchwork piece was embossed to give it more texture.

The flower was made using a spellbinders die, the papers are MME Bloom & Grow Wild Asparagus. Sentiment is from Wild Rose Studio.

Heres the Pattern Template if you want it.

Thanks for popping by my blog today

Digital Diva - Giveaway

Hi all,

Remember a while ago I posted a couple of digital scrapbook pages I made of the kids. Well a couple of days later I had a email from a digital scrapbooking site called  My Memories asking if I would like to review their scrapbook software, of course I said yes and so I was sent the download for the My Memories V3 software.

So after having a good play around with the software, which I really enjoyed. I can definately recommend this software if your are into Digi Scrapbooking. The My Memories V3 comes with loads of pre-loaded papers, embellishments, layouts etc so you can play as soon as as your download is complete. You can create your very own pages/albums but if your just starting out (like me!!) you can choose from the pre-loaded photo templates complete with everything pre-made and you only have to upload your photo and you have a gorgeous scrapbook page. You can then add music, narration etc to your pages and export them as JPegs so you can share them with family and friends.

To make life even more interesting you can purchase more kits, layouts, pre-done page albums from My Memories  in a variety of different styles & designs. They start from as little as $0.99 and you can also get a fair few collections for Free.

So as I said, I had a little play with the software over the weekend and I started off gently and used the pre-made album Princess Diva which came pre-loaded into the software. The page layouts were already constructed and all I had to do was add my photos and few extra embellishments.

I think they look pretty fabulous and to be honest they were really easy to make. I have now downloaded a few more collections from the site and have a W.I.P of a few pages of Oli.

Now then, the very kind people over at My Memories have given me permission to give away a copy of this software to one of my followers, so what do you have to do to be in with the chance.

1. Become a follower of my blog

2. Pop on over to the My Memories site and have a nosey at the all fabulous Scrapbooking Kits

3. Leave me a comment under this post on which kit is your favorite and why

4. Link my giveaway in your sidebar

Simples !!!!!!

The giveaway will be open for 2 weeks until 11.59pm on Monday 2nd April and I will draw a winner on the morning of Tuesday 3rd April (why because that day is my birthday - and that means you can have a present too!!!!)

Thanks for popping by my blog today and good luck to all those that enter.

I give you my heart - DT for MMCS

Hi all

Its Wednesday again which means its that time of the week for a new challenge over at My Mums Craft Shop.  It seems that you liked last weeks challenge of spring colours as we had a fair few of you join in with us, did you win the challenge? why not pop over and have a look.

Anyway onto this weeks challenge, with Mothers Day coming up this weekend we decided that this week our theme would be

For Mum/Special Lady

We are sponsered this week by the lovely

A Day for Daisies very kindly gave the DT a choice of images to work with for this challenge and I chose to use the very gorgeous Pansy Fairy.
Now although they haven't been posted on here yet, I have already made my Mothers Day cards. So for my creation I actually chose to make a little gift for my BFF, she is so good to me and looks after me all the while, nothing is too much trouble for her so she is my special lady for this challenge. (she has already received this little gift, and I have to tell you she loved it!!!!)

I brought the wicker heart for about £1 from a floristry warehouse and decided to give it a bit of a makeover.  I knew I had to use purple with this image, as the gorgeous fabby gingham ribbon was already  tied on the heart and I didn't want to change it. So I coloured the image with my purple promarkers and added a bit of stickles to her wings (a little tip, dont go OTT with stickles on a Digi Image they tend to bleed as you can see on one of my wings !!). I then dug deep into my flower boxes, but didn't have any purple flowers so I decided to give some white ones a bit of a makeover with one of the promarkers. The little sentiment was a freebie in a mag I brought earlier in the month and just went perfect with the colours and theme.

I hope you will pop on over to the blog and check out my team mates fabulous creations using these gorgeous images.

Thanks for popping by my blog today

Lyndsey xx

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges

Crafty Sentiments - Things with Wings

Abigial in Print

Hii all,

I have no card to show you today, but I do have a picture of a very excited girl. A while ago I sent off a picture of Abbie and some cards she had made to Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine. Yesterday my copy came through the post and Abigail has been crowned this months Card Making Princess. She was so excited last night and has taken off with my mag today to show everyone at school lol!!!

The picture was actually taken last year when she was off school for 2 weeks with Chicken Pox, to keep her occupied I let her raid my crafty stash and these were what she came up with. Also as you can read in the text, when she was in hospital in Jan having her IV's we took stamped images and promarkers in with us to keep her amused.

This card below is one she made on Sunday, after spying some of my digi images on my desk ready to be coloured. This one she decided looked like her so she pinched it an made this card, which she made without any help from me at all.

Hope you like Abbie's card and thanks for popping by my blog today.
