KISS

Hi all

Well the weekend is here and we are almost at the end of the month, will be so glad when this month is over don't think I can take anymore bad news. Had some more yesterday so thats three lots in the space of 28 days sooooo don't think 2012 is going to be a good year for me at all.

Anyway today sees a new challenge over at Totally Gorjuss and its the first one I have been able to join in for a while. The theme this week is a simple one

KISS - Keep it Sweet & Simple

So we would like to see your nice simple and clean creations.

We are sponsered this week by the one & only Lili of the Valley

So for my card I have kept it very simple, got a couple of lovely Fiskars stamps from Hobbycraft a while ago and saw the price as £2.99 thought bargin!!!. However when I got them home I realised that they should fit onto a wheel to be a continuous stamp, so they went in my draw in stayed there lol. When I saw this weeks theme I knew they they would be perfect so I got one of them out and just popped it on a large acrylic block and stamped it once, the length was just perfect for a 6x6 card. A little bit of matting and a simple sentiment and a few gems were all that was needed to complete my card.

Hope you like my simple creation, please do pop on over to the challenge blog and check out my team mates creations.

Thanks for popping by my blog today

Present Fairy

Hi all,

Firstly thanks to all who have left such lovely comments about my little paper bouquet, I will try and get some step by step pictures taken this weekend for you.

Had a pretty uneventful week here which I have to say has been brilliant, up until last night when I picked Oli up from school to find out he had been punched in the back of the head by his so called best friend. I wasnt a very happy parent last night especially as this child had already been excluded from school the day before for pretty much the same thing on another child. So a quick parent and teacher meeting and I have demanded something done, the best thing they sent him home with a letter saying he had bumped his head - big difference between bumping and being punched dont you think!!!!!. What makes me laugh about all this though is that Oli is much larger than this boy and would probably knock him out if he hit him back, but he wont cause he knows its not the right thing to do.

Anways enough of my moaning and onto my card. I made this card for my SIL off the kids for her birthday last week. I have used a gorgeous LOTV stamp that I got from the NEC in November and this is her first inking. I wanted to do a really nice pastel girly feel and think I have mananged that with the colour scheme and gorgeous flowers from WOC. The papers are MME and again were a NEC buy.

A sweet bouquet

Hi all,

I am back finally being able to create my cards for my DT's. Today sees a new challenge over at MMCS and this week the theme is

Flowers.

We are sponsered this week by the fabulous

So if you read my post yesterday you will know that I have been making samples for Trimcraft over the weekend and this little creation I thought would also be perfect for this weeks challenge. I have made a little bouquet of flowers from paper, the design I saw in a craft mag a while ago and although it is very time consuming the results are fabulous and well worth the effort.

Basically each flower consists of five individual petals glued together, which are made by intricately folding squares of paper, in this case I used 5cm sq, 6cm sq and 7cm sq to make them different sizes. I used the First Edition Love Letters paper pad (which you will find here), a bit of green wire for the stems, wrapped it all together in some tissue paper and tied with some pink satin ribbon. There are 8 flowers altogether in my liitle bunch.

I hope you like my creation, please do pop on over to the challenge blog, check out my team mates creations and join in the fun.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges.

Hotshot Crafts - Flowers

Incy Wincy Designs - Anything but a card

Lexi's Creations - Fancy Folds

Make My Monday - Nature (flowers and leaves)

Thanks for popping by my blog today.

CHA samples for Trimcraft

Hi all,

Well it looks like things are finally back to normal here, Abbie is full of beans and back at school and I started up my Craft Classes again on Monday. Over the weekend I have been busy making a few samples for Trimcraft to take to the CHA, I was supposed to make them at the begining of the month but with Abbie being bad things just didnt happen. I didnt think I was going to be able to make any, but Abbie went and stopped at her nan and grandad's the weekend so I took the opportunity to get a bit crafty and the items have gone off to Trimcraft today just in time to get there for them to take to the show.

Now being as I was short on time my samples are little simple and not as intricate as I would have liked, but hopefully they will be ok.

The magnetic note pad holder and memo pad have been made using the First Edition Sweet Owl paper pad

The little bird house has been made using First Edition Bird Song paper pad

The rosette arrangement has been made using the First Edition Isabelle paper pad

The mini mobile has been made using the First Edition Dreamcatcher paper pad

I have one more sample to show you, but you will have to wait until tomorrow for that as it is my creation for this weeks MMCS challenge.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, and thanks for all your kind comments regarding Abbie.

Home at last

Hi all,

Well we are finally home, Abbie is doing really well and seems so much brighter. We still have 7 days worth of meds to finish but the nurses have signed me off as competent so I can do them myself at home. It was very daunting the first time on my own yesterday but I feel much better about it now, in fact its much easier when you dont have someone watching over your shoulder lol!!!. We just need to concentrate on increasing Abbie's appetite now and then we will be winning the battle. We seem to be getting back into a routine and hopefully over the weekend we will feel more normal again.

Anyway I haveny posted any cards in a while so I thought I would show you some cards I made over christmas, they are samples for Trimcraft and were made using the new Fizzy Moon Decoupage and Paper Pads.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, and thank you to those who have left lovely comments about Abbie.

Hospital Update

Hi all,

Sorry no cards from me yet, we are still in hospital and havent had any time for crafting at all. Thought I would give you an update on madam.

Abbie is doing better each day and the meds seem to be doing the trick although the levels are still not right and they are still increasing the dosage each time till they hit the right mark. He temp and blood pressure have been up and down and she is struggling to eat after loosing her appetite completely. They have started her on some milkshake supplements to try and help her gain weight a bit but in all fairness they are not that nice and is proving a bit of struggle to get her to drink them. It took them 3 hours to get her long line in as she was having none of it, but eventually we got there and it seems to be working fine at the moment. I am being taught to draw up and administer the meds through the line myself and hopefully if she picks up we can come home at the end of the week and I can finish the treatment at home.  She is having to have lots of chest physio to keep her chest clear which is something she is not to happy about, it literally took 4 of us to do it the other day (1 to do it and 3 to hold her down lol!!!!).

Anyway hope to be back soon.

Birthday wishes

Hi all,

Well I hope you all had a great start to the year, unfortunately for us the problems have already started. If you have read any of my earlier posts you will know that Abbie has been ill over christmas, well she has not gotten any better and after a routine check up at the hosptial yesterday her consultant has decided that she needs to go into hospital for a 2 week course of IV's. She has lost loads of weight, her chest is sounding bad and she has lost 30% of her lung function. So tomorrow at 1pm we are off to hospital for her treatment. Due to her CF we have to have an islolated room as she is not supposed to mix with the other children, so must pack plently of stuff to keep her occupied and hopefully maybe even a few crafty bits and pieces for me and a few books lol!!!.

Anyway today sees the first challenge of the year over at My Mums Craft Shop, as we are in a new year our theme this week is a simple one

Something New

We would like you to use something new on your card or even a card for a new house/job/baby etc.

We are sponsered this week by

So for my card I went with new stash. The papers and image are both new and you can get them both over at MMCS. The paper is MME All Spice and the stamp is Gorjuss Waiting.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, do pop on over to the challenge blog - check out my team mates creations and join in the fun.

Hopefully will be back soon

Great entertainment, food and drink (not for me I was driving!!) and we got back in about 1.30 this morning so had a lovely lie in and spending today chilling out.

I noticed a lot of people showcasing their fave cards from each month of 2011 so thought I would join in the fun.
