Tres Chic!!

Hi all,

Well what about this gorgeous weather then, my kids have their harvest assembly today and their annual sponsered harvest walk which is bascially 20 laps round the school field. Last year I did it with them and I can remember them doing it in coats, hats scarves and gloves & wellies, today I have sent them in shorts and T-shirts!!!. I am not doing it this year feeling a bit lazy today lol,

So yesterday I had a very productive day and made my projects ready for the Wild Rose Studio Blog Hop which takes place on Monday 10th Oct at 9am, please do join in the fun with us there are some fabby prizes to be won as each DT member has the stamp they used on their card to give away (well not the exact one but a shinny new one!!)  it felt very strange making christmas cards in such sunny weather.

So anyway as promised I am back today to show you a cute little PB card. The stamp is yet again one of my buys from the NEC in march and this is the first time it has seen ink. Doesnt she look so cute dressed up in her little French Chic outfit, although I have to say I am not too impressed with them, the image is from a clear set and I dont really think the image stamps out that defined and I must have stamped this image out at least 10 times and this was the most decent one out of the lot. (if you look at the colose up image you will see what I mean) I also followed a sketch from somewhere but for the life of me I cant remember or find it now!!.For this card I have again decorated the inside (Diane will be so proud lol!!!)

Promarkers used
Face - Coral, Dusky Pink, Satin
Hair - Cocoa, Cinammon, Tan
Cardi & Hat - Antique Pink, Cocktail Pink, Pastel Pink
Scarf & Bag - Holly, Soft Green, Pastel Green
Poodle - Satin

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges

4 Crafty Chicks - Anything Goes

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Thanks for popping by my blog day, and for all your lovely comments they are always really appreciated.

Christmas with Milton

Hi all,

Thought I would show you a few christmas cards today that I have made using a fabulous FREEBIE!!!!.

In the lastest issue of Papercraft Essentials their free gift is a fabulous 6x6 Milton Christmas Paper Pack from Wild Rose Studio. The designs are just gorgeous and along with the usual christmasy colours and classic designs such as Holly & Poinsettias, Dulcie has thrown the colours fushia pink, lime green and burgandy into the mix to give them a fab contempary feel. As an added bonus you will find pre-coloured images of Milton at the back of pad to cut out and use, so pretty much all you need to add to get fantastic cards is a few gems & a bit of ribbon and voila!!!!

The cards I have made are only 5" square so they look quite cute and dinky, and are just the right size for the size of the pre-coloured images without them getting lost on the cards.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, will be back tomorrow with a lovely little chic Penny Black card.

Gifts for you

Hi all,

Well I feel pretty rotten today I have been suffering from a sore throat and bad ears since last week and today it has turned into a full blown stinkin cold. I feel like I need to have a hankie permanently attached to the end of my nose!!!.  I have been to bed for a couple of hours since getting in from work but still feel no better, bechams, bath and bed I think in a bit.

Anyway I have a christmas card to show you today, its one that I made a week or so ago when I made a little batch of  them. This one is the one I made for hubby - and guess what? yes I used another of those LOTV Cute Squares.

Pretty simple design and layout, as I dont got OTT for hubby's card (not really a fussy and fancy person- too manly lol!!!). The papers were free with a mag and the ribbon was recycled from some cotton PJ's (it was tied around them) MS punch, Papermania flower & brad and Craftwork Cards sentiment.
Thanks for popping by my blog today, have a couple of cutie PB cards to show you over the next couple of days just not got round to photoing them yet.

Bunches of love

Hi all,

Well I didnt get my glass of something nice last night, as there wasnt anything in the fridge and I couldnt be bothered to go and get something, so in the end I pinched one of Rich's Bud's lol!!. I did get my Saturday night Gary fix though - lush!!!!! and me and the kids shared an Mint Areo (or Airy Minto as Abbie calls them) so all was not lost.

Anyways I made this card using a gorge LOTV topper and the papers were free in a mag that I used to sell in the shop. I have a few coloured images to use now that I did in the shop the other day and then last night they just didnt take my fancy and I ended up picking up another of these toppers!!!!

The flowers are Papermania white ones and I used my Promarkers to colour them in to match the papers- Sandstone & Cardinal I think!!. I havent put a senitment on it yet as not sure what I want it for.

I have just finished 3 hours of the dreaded ironing and Rich has taken Oli to play football so am going to spend the rest of the afternoon getting crafty (if Ab's lets me). Its absolutely tipping it down here at the moment so god knows what state they will come back in!!!

Thanks for popping by today and putting up with my waffle.

Cuddle Bunny

Hi all,

Well its a bit of a sad day here today, as its actually my shops 2nd birthday I have offically been open for 2 years. This time last year we were celebrating with a Demo Day and had raffles and prizes etc, and now this year we are just 2 weeks away from closing. Think I may drown my sorrows tonight with a nice glass of something lol!!!

Anyway the card I have today is made following another of the sketch challenges that I give my ladies (we do a sketch challenge every 6 weeks) it surprisingly is also the same as sketch No 7 over on the Sketch & Stash blog which this week is a free choice.

The card uses an old Sarah Kay stamp from last years collection and also papers from a Papermania collection from last year - so using up a lot of old stash on this card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges

Sketch & Stash - Free choice Sketch

Crafts 4 Eternity - Autumn Days

Crafty Catz - Autumn

Stemplesonne - Autumn

4 Crafty Chicks - Fall/Autumn

Paper Play Challenge - Autumn Leaves

Then I made a quick card, using a fabby Trimcraft Decoupage & Paper pad that I have had for ages too.

Thanks for popping by today

Fairy birthday wishes

Hi all,

Firstly I would like to thank you to all those who are leaving me lovely comments about my cards, it really means a lot and helps keep me cheered up during this difficult time with the shop and everything. Also we seem to be going through a tough time as a family at the moment, but yesterday it seems that someone has finally shone a light on us. We have been waiting for very important test results to come through and they both came back all clear yesterday - firstly my nan was being tested for Bowel Cancer and then my sister who is only 31 had a massive scare with Breast Cancer and had to have a biopsy, we have all been so worried while waiting for results but luckly everything has came back clear on both accounts and we feel very thankful.

I managed to stamp and colour a few images in the shop yesterday as it was quiet, and this one I actually made into a card. I have used a fabulous Nellie Snellen - Sweet Elin fairy stamp, coloured with promakers and teamed her with MME papers. The swirls are a Marienne Die and the little flowers are Prima. A bit of Dovecraft ribbon and a Craftwork Cards sentiment to finish. All the matts have been cut out using Spellbinders and my Big Shot. The card base is a Simple Stepper - which I will pop on the Tutorial Blog soon if anyone is interested.

Promakers used

Skin - Coral, Dusky Pink, Satin
Hair - Cinammon, Tan, Sandstone
Dress - Antique Pink, Dusky Rose, Blossom
Flower - Blue Pearl, Pastel Blue, Olive Green

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges

Flutterby Wednesdays - Butterfly, Fairy or Angels

Thank You - Teacher

Hi all,

Just found some cards on my computer that I havent blogged before so thought I would show them you today. They aree actually the Thank You cards I made for the teachers at the end of last term. I have again!!! used some of the fabulous LOTV Die Cut Squares for quickness (cause I forgot to do them untill the night before they broke up lol!!!) and teamed them with some Fancy Pants papers that were free in a Mag.

The DL card was done following a sketch challenge that I set for my girls in class, I will pop it on the sketch blog later if anyone is interested.

Thanks for popping by my blog today

Happy Anniversary

Hi all,

Do you like my new blog?, well you know how you start something then wished you hadn,t. Four hours I have been trying to sort the bloomin thing out, first I lost things, then they were in the wrong place I nearly gave up I tell you but it looked such a mess I had to keep going. Anways it will be left well alone from now lol!!!

So today my Dad and Stepmum celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary - I tell you I dont know how she has put up with him for that long lol!!! I made them this card using some fabby Fizzy Moon products. I also followed the Challenge sketch over the Trimcraft Website.

I am quite enjoying using my other bits up at the moment instead of stamping. Before I became hooked on stamping I always used decoupage or toppers, now when I use them I feel like I am cheating a little as I havent stamped & coloured the image. Also most of the cards that appear on people blogs do have the fabulous stamped and coloured images on them, and I feel that my card is not worthy of being blogged (please tell me I am not the only one who has these skind of thoughts) The trouble is I still cant resist buying them if they appeal to me and they end up sitting in my draw forever, cause I feel I cant use them. So I have decided that I do need to use them and hopefully you wont mind if I sneek them in on my blog every so often.

Thanks for popping by today

Trimming the tree, exciting news and a blog hop

Hi all,

As promised I am back today with a christmas card to show you. I have again took the easy option (as I tend to with my xmas cards) and used a pre coloured topper from LOTV. The papers a from a Forever Friends pack and I have used a MS border punch. The ribbon is from Dovecraft and a Papermania flower with MS snowflake& leaf punches to finish.

I also have a bit of exciting news to tell as well, I have been invited by the lovely girls over at Wild Rose Studio to join in with their upcomming blog hop. WRS have a new release coming out soon and the girls are doing a blog hop to celebrate, I dont have full details yet but will keep you posted. All I can say is the stamp I have chosen to use is stunning and very different to what I would normally use on my cards, so I hope I do it justice.

Finally I would like to give a shout out to Kerry and the girls who are having a blog hop starting today. Kerry has decided to go Digi and has released some very fab and funny Magnum images. Click on the pic to go to the challenge blog to join in the fun.

Thanks for popping by my blog today.

When it rains ....

Dance in the puddles!!

Hi all,

A while ago I got myself some gorgeous Tatty Button stamps (infact it was at the NEC in March!!!) well I finally got round to inking one up last week and made this card. I have teamed her with some fabby MME papers and added just a few Prima Swirls and ribbon to finish. It needs a sentiment somewhere but not found one suitable yet, thinking of maybe using it as a get well card or something.

The layout I have used, is one I have used previously and was a sketch challenge from somewhere but not sure where now sorry.

Well its looking a very sorry site in the shop now, most of the stock has gone and Rich has been taking fixtures and fittings down. My last day of trading is the 8th October so just 3 weeks to go and it will all be over. Just got to find something to keep me occupied now lol!!!

Thanks for popping by my blog today, have a few more christmas cards to show you this week so will be back tomorrow.

Christmas Kisses & Rude Comments

Hi all,

Today I have another christmas card for you, but firstly I know that recently there have been some rude, nasty & un-necessary comments being put on people blogs. Well yesterday I had one and feel quite angry about it, so I just have this to say :-

To whomever sent me that lovely!! comment. If you feel that my cards or what I post on here are not that impressive, then dont bother coming and looking at my blog. I will post what I like and write what I like its my blog!!!. To say that I dont deserve to have a "popular blog" (as you put it) is your opinion and I would rather you kept it to yourself instead of being nasty and spiteful. And please if you are going to leave these sort of comments on peoples blog at least have the decency to leave your name and not do it anomonusly, at least then we could come and look at your creations to see obviously how wonderful they must be!!! - Rant Over!!!!!

Anyway back to my card, I have as I said a christmas card and this one I have made for Hubby from Abbie. I have used an adorable Cute Square from LOTV again and papers from the same pack as yesterday. All the edges of the papers have been glittered and have been layed up with foam pads. A cute sentiment from Craftwork Cards and some glittery letters spell out the word DAD.

Thank you for popping by my blog today - sorry for the rant!!. I hope none of you have been on the receiving end of any of these nasty comments.

Christmas Ted

Hi all,

Thought I would make a start on my christmas cards early this year. Every year I say i am going to and never end up doing so, always scrambling to to get them done in December. Last year I think hubby got his card on xmas eve (slap hands!!!!)

So I have made a few this week, a couple of general ones, one for hubby, one Dad card & one Brother card.

I do cheat a little on my xmas cards and tend to use either decoupage or pre-coloured images for quickness due to making so many, if you get a stamped xmas card from me I must really love you lol!!!. Today I am going to show you a card made using the fabby cute squares from LOTV. The ones I have have been discontinued now but you can get a similar thing. The papers a from papermania and I think are from 2 years ago, so pretty much trying to use up old stash before I open the new.

The only touches I have made to the image is to add a bit of glitter onto his hat, The snowflakes are MS punches and I matted everthing with Kraft Card.

Thanks for popping by today, will be back over the next few days with mores xmas cards.

Just a Note

Hi all,

I really enjoyed using the sweet sugar nellie Gorjuss stamp earlier this week, that I just had to dig another one out and give her an inking. I have used the gorjuss image Just a Note and made a card for my Niece whos birthday is later this month. I have teamed her with some bright and fresh MME papers and added a few flowers to finish, just a simple layout and style again as I cant seem to create something a bit more fancy for the life of me at the moment.

I have coloured the image with promarkers and used the following colours :-

Hair - Black, Cool Grey 5, 3 & 1
Skin - Coral, Dusky Pink, Satin - Pastel Pink (cheeks)
Dress - Petrol Blue, Duck Egg, Cool Aqua
Boots - Antique Pink, Cocktail Pink, Pastel Pink

Thanks for popping by my blog today and to those who left such lovely comments on my last post. It means a lot that you still popped back over to me after such a long time away.

I am trying to get round to catching back up with all of you, but still need lots more blogging hours before I finally manage it.

Just a Girl

Hi all,

Well finally I have a post, sorry I havent been round for ages things have been hetic around here for the last few months.
Things have also been happening here that have basically left me with no time or inclin to craft anyway.
Well I have finally made a decision regarding things here and I have decided to close my shop, it has been a very disapointing 6 months for sales and things have not gone to plan so after just 2 years I have called it a day.
It has been a very stressfull time for myself and my family but we are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel and the shop should be closed within the next few weeks.
I will continue to teach my cardmaking classes, but other than that have no idea as to what I am going to be doing, hopefully I will get some freelance design work that I used to do before for magazines and stuff. It will also mean that I will have time for non work crafting and I can get crafty and hopefully get my mojo back.

Anyway today is my BF's birthday and there was no way I was going to give her a shop brought card, so I dug my stuff out last night and came up with this card. Its quite simple in design and I havent gone OTT with embellies but I like it. Infact I liked the image and colour combo that much it was my inspiration for this weeks class card.

The image is an old SN Gorjuss Girl and she is my fave, just plain and simple but lovely to colour. I have coloured her with Poly's, I do use PM's too but keep forgetting and leaving them down the shop - I love the difference you get with your colouring by using different mediums.
The flowers are an X-Cut punch and a bit of organza ribbon to finish.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, hopefully this post will be the start of many.
